So what’s your thoughts on the recording & the girl’s injuries?
As Billy says, none of us can say for certain what happenned. We can interpret what we saw, and give out best guess. We can say what the likelihood it. However, presumably you framed your question to suggest that the recording and injuries prove beyond all reasonable doubt that Greenwood is guilty. Although he may well be, I will try and give a counter argument, just to display a possible reason why it might not be as clear cut.

One of my mates is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Charming, skinny, completely non-aggressive and never says a bad word about anyone. Last year he shocked me, when he was talking about a recent relationship he was in, and he said the girl he was with liked to be strangled. After much piss taking, he explained she likes it rough, and that it is quite common with some of the girls he has met before. I continued to take the piss. However, could Greenwoods gf enjoy that type of relationship? Could that perhaps explain some of the vulgar things heard on tape?

As for the injuries, even I'd like to think that if a girl likes that type of relationship, not to the extent of proper physical harm!???? But, maybe those injuries were caused by something else? Maybe she is an aggressive girl and Greenwood did lash out (still out of order), or in self defence?

Again, I'd like to point out, I'm not assuming Greenwood is an angel. I'm just thinking of a possible scenario where the evidence we have seen in the press might not be as clear cut as we'd expect?

I wonder what 3 players Potter will choose to add to Chelsea's Champions League squad, out of the 8 they signed?

I don't think Blue In Munich has posted on these forums since last November. Would be interesting to hear a Chelsea fan's perspective. I wonder if Potter knew what he was letting himself in for? There is no way he would have had a clue what new players were going to turn up for training on any given day in the last month.

Apologies for not reading the last 10 pages. But re the Greenwood case. Obviously shares have been dropped because of,

Quote,
The Crown Prosecution Service said the charges were discontinued after key witnesses withdrew their involvement.

So my question i, if the “Key“ witnesses have withdrawn there statement, why have they not been charged?

Question for @Slime or other UTD fans.
Would you be happy to see Greenwood back in the squad?

From a playing perspective only, just about. But I think in that regard United have perhaps moved on.

I just think all the extra baggage will make it impossible. It will detract from the football side of things far too much, and for that reason alone I cannot see ten Hag coming close to entertaining the idea. He’s got rid of the circus surrounding Ronaldo - the last thing he will want or need is another one.

If Greenwood is to resurrect his career I think it will be elsewhere.

Wasting police time for a start. Is that an actual offence.
plus the money it’s cost to get this far.

It is an actual offence but making a statement and then deciding to withdraw your complaint does not come remotely close to meeting the criteria.

Regardless, think of the bigger picture. Women are already very reluctant to make allegations of rape for all sorts of reasons. I suspect one of the reasons GMP were so unhappy to see these charges withdrawn was the fact that it is likely to further discourage many victims from coming forward.

If you throw into the mix the threat of a rape victim being prosecuted for changing their mind regarding their involvement in a prosecution, then an already very difficult job in encouraging rape victims to report offences will become even more problematic.

Yeah that’s my thinking.
Best thing Hag did was get Pogba & Lingard out of there.

Yes I get that .
but the flip side is a rape can be reported putting the accused through what Greenwoods getting now.
losing their job is worse for an ordinary person.
then just change their minds with no consequences.

I think that’s why the accused should not be identified until found guilty.
trial by media/ Twitter has gone to far.

My answer is similar to this.

Before all of this, he was such a promising youngster. The thought he could train under a proper coach in ten Hag is appealing. Would have loved to have seen that.

But, it would be a circus. Rightly or wrongly, public would hurl all sorts of nasty accusations at Utd that they are a club that support domestic abuse and rape (just look how LIV golfers morals have been questioned) simply for trying to resurrect Greenwood's career. Utd also have a lot of players to play on the wing. Sure, it would have been Greenwood's chance to play at one of the strikers, but the ship may well have sailed.

Besides, goodness knows what sort of physical and mental shape he is in. I think he'd need time to start looking at how he can get back to whatever normality he can get.

There will be a club that picks him up unfortunately

His GF has gone back to live with him, I suspect she is the key witness who has withdrawn

Everyone has seen the videos and you would hope a club wouldn’t touch him - would be good to see Utd throw him out and then he rots , doesn’t deserve a career in the sport

What with, Tash?
From an ignoranus point of view. I would imagine a lot of non Utd fans would liked to see Greenwood in the slammer. Much like Mendy at City. However these accusations against Greenwood have now been withdrawn. But not without tarnishing Greenwood's reputation. All of a sudden witness statements are withdrawn and that don’t sit comfortable with me. There’s something about the whole of this process and Mendys that don’t sit comfortably with me.
