The EFL Thread

As I said on the other thread, the occasion was too big for them. Way too much pressure and they're not a very good side, sneaked into the play offs in the end. Sheff Utd were challenging for the top two for most of the season, a huge gulf in class.

Could really have been 4 or 5 nil. The offside goal was quite harsh as then defender wasn't reaching that.

It was close, he might have. If it's that close it has to be ruled out.

The ref had some big decisions, I think he got them right, but I appreciate that is subjective.

Ah, looks like the chance has gone for Bristol. :(

Gonna throw the weight of my support behind Coventry/Sunderland now! Would be good to see either of them back in the top flight. Slight preference for Coventry for me - purely on the basis that it's been longer for them.

Nice and tense at Sunderland tonight. Deserved goal for Coventry. Sunderland have set up for the point from the beginning and may pay the price, deservedly so to be fair.

I’m a very happy Mackem, but I also have a very unhappy Coventry fan BiL 😂
Were either of those legs against Coventry indicative of how Sunderland play? That's all I've seen of you this year and there was nothing there that suggests you would survive in the PL. I don't think Coventry would either for that matter but you would need a lot of clever recruitment in the summer.

Not particularly, for most of the season they’ve tried to play “good” football. Their form dropped off a cliff in the last couple of months when they dropped out of the title race so I think those two games were just a case of doing what they needed to.

I imagine if they go up it will be a long slog and hard to avoid relegation

Fantastic results from the play offs

London derby

Well played Charlton

My boss wasn't in tonight. Just sent me a video from him at the Charlton game. He's going to be buzzing tomorrow night

Ruby on him Saturday hopefully!

Is there a more insufferable, unlikeable bloke in football than Nathan Jones? His antics last night, with the game still going, but knowing the cameras were on him was the most cringe thing I've seen in a long time.

He's a decent manager but I have to say I'm glad we gave him a swerve back in 2023.

His behaviour last night was some of the most embarrassing I've ever seen. He's not all there and has made some quite insane comments in the past few years, especially when at Southampton.
