Moving away from Greenwood -

The mighty Villa take on Leicester at home tomorrow!

I'm expecting a good game, hope to see Duran come on at some point for some minutes.

If we can come away with a win again tomorrow then we really are looking up the table for the rest of the season!

I personally feel City and Utd have tough decisions to make about Greenwood and Mendy. Along the lines of “ do they pull on a shirt again”. Personally I hope Mendy never does. He has come across as a loathsome man.
Greenwood is now an ” innocent” man but folk have seen the Video and made there own minds up. I don’t think these stories are a long way from finished.

If you could keep Leicester down in the basement, we’d very much appreciate it!

I didn't have a stable father figure growing up. Not been in trouble with law yet, seem to be doing OK?

Plenty of bad eggs who have decent parents. Maybe gone astray with the crowd they hang out with.

No idea what Greenwood's dad is like

Your posts now make sense😉

I'm not saying everyone without a Father in their lives are bad eggs and you know it.

You're being deliberately obtuse again.

Me neither and for all i know about this vile cretin his father may be a fine gentleman of his parish.

I am not suggesting Greenwood hasnt had a father figure in his life, it is my view generally speaking in society.

As much as Greenwood may be a horrible boy, or may not be, what bothers me more about the outcome now is what does this say and do to other females who accuse partners of this sort of crime?
It seems far too many choose to not press on with the charges made because of one reason or another, whether they be a belief of love, he won't do it again, money, lifestyle or whatever.
Anyway, this is the footie thread.

Your statement opened up with:

"I blame the parents for how children/young men behave in society"

I know you were not talking about every individual case, but I assume you are confident about your statement in a general sense. You blame the parents. If you are happy to post such an opinion on a public forum, absolutely fair enough. It is your opinion, and that is what you believe. But, no need to get personal if someone challenges your opinion. I was simply saying that I don't agree with that general comment, that's all.

Everyone knows that some kids have awful parents, and never stand a chance. Other have absent parents, and are more easily influenced from others. But, to simply say you blame the parents, for me, is a statement that doesn't make much sense. Are parents of today worse than parents 20, 30 40 years ago? Or, have parents always been the problem?

Besides, blaming parents for what the bad eggs to in society is a general statement that probably needs a separate thread. In Greenwoods individual case, we've no idea what his parents are like (or do we?). So such a general assumption may be completely inappropriate to this discussion. We do know that he has become worshipped by many fans when he has been a teenager, long before that he probably had a good idea that football was his destiny, and he has earned more money in a few weeks as a teenager than many will earn in a life time. So, assuming he is as bad as most of us believe, there are plenty of potential causes for his behaviour. For example, I wonder how well Manchester United, the club, looked after its young players? Arguably, people working in the club would become a bigger role model, or just as important, as his parents. Did he have great teachers at school who really managed to shape him into a fine young man, or did he have different experiences at school, with him knowing that there was no real pressure to do well with his education?

Ahh I never like seeing clubs with dodgy owners.

Not asking for them to have Newcastle level owners - but no one wants another Bury job.
Define dodgy . I'm not expecting someone to take them under, we couldn't get that lucky , but a bit of awkwardness would reduce the level of moral superiority we often see bandied about. I'd like to see a little bit of squirming, but equally I don't want them having a limitless war chest. I'm sure there are plenty out there who can fit that criteria, football seems to attract them.

(you must have enjoyed Birmingham's issues over the years, just a smidge)

Ill be honest - yes and no?

It was fun while we were in the championship as it was 6 points before a ball was kicked, but now id like to see them come up so we can have our Derby again.

All we can hope for is a random cup draw one year and the chances of that are slim.

Whilst we all do enjoy hating our rivals, I don't think anyone would want to see their rivals rot so far down that there's no hope of recovery. Birmingham have been lucky to stay in the Championship and not drop further!

There's nothing better in football than the local derby and we've not had one for 4 years, and probably wont have one for a good few more!
