The Cricket Thread

India hit 72 sixes and England 28 in this test series. Clearly nothing wrong with Bazball. Its just that the two teams switched roles.

First round of County Championship Matches 5th April. Madness.

Should be some hard firm wickets NOT!

To bastardise the words of Coolio, "Living in a seamer's paradise". There's going to be a lot of soft, green ones for the first few weeks of the season.

I can't imagine that New Road in Worcester is going to be very batsmen friendly until probably July at the earliest.

IPL is back…. Unsurprisingly more money going into it… at this rate it will be bigger than the U.K. economy ..

Also KP is back … he seems to have aged

The scores at IPL are getting silly... saw a couple of 270+ !!!!

Also, India's newest fast bowler find - mayank yadav fella..... bowling at 155k regularly. Tnx to the money and IPL, India has gone from Spinning dustbowl to a fast bowlers paradise ..

Like golf courses, Cricket stadiums are getting smaller
IPL making all sorts of records. 250 is normal these days. But today saw a 100/0 runs in the first five overs… batters now hitting 6s at will .. it is a Mickey Mouse league

I watched one of the early games and it was noted by the commentary team that most of the sides this year had set up with underpowered bowling attacks to prioritise more hitting power. When so many sixes are being hit, is it exciting any more? I have to say, my view would be no.

As I type, the majority of the CC matches in their final day are going to end in draws. Why are they still carrying on? Must be soul destroying for the players and fans
