Sri Lanka nearly lost a player to a serious knee injury as the pitch didn't allow him to slide. Players are reportedly being advised not to slide to stop balls in the field.
I would consider that situation a dangerous pitch.
Oh the outfield?! Different from the pitch in cricket. Yeah. Can see that sometimes. Landing heavily on a knee while trying to slide to stop a ball can lead to digging in and perhaps injury.

Some of the players need to have a look at their technique when sliding - they tend to jump quite high into the slide and come down at more of an angle so dig into the turf more.
Also, apart from cutting the outfield, I’m not sure what else groundsmen do to the outfield so not sure how they can influence the softness of the turf

Have full grass outfields, and not huge patches of sand.

Some interesting third umpiring today in that game with an Aussie been given out gloved behind when his hand was off the bat.

Saw the highlights of the SA v Aus match.. stadium seems empty.. it was all supposed to be ‘sold out’

SA was brilliant.. they deserve a WC at some point - provided they don’t choke.

Good to see the Aussies down, but they always start slow and suddenly find their mojo after group stages.. (but have to watch out for the NRR)

Good win for SA today against The Aussies. Expect CaptainR may be having a few scoops and thought he may have been on here by now.

Great result btw
Excellent win for us but a big slice of luck in losing the toss! Batting second on there was tricky as hell. We look good at present but there are a couple of good teams waiting for us. I’m just wanting us to secure a top 4 spot as quickly as possible. Then we get nervous 😬

It’s not the fans that are the problem.. the organisers have been shambles.. still can’t get tickets. It’s a long tournament and I suspect it will fill uo

Tomorrow India - Pak tickets in the black market are eye watering

Not completely true.. it is still shambles and the black market is thriving. But today have a heat wave, sweltering 35 C... so expect some more people in the second inning.
It is not just tickets for the Ind-Pak match, but also hotels... So people are booking 'full body check up' at hospitals - cheaper than hotels
