Random Irritations

I find if you start talking very loudly when near to them, it can have the effect of them putting it to their ear instead;)
I didn’t understand the language, only some English snippets. Difficult to get involved there.
He would have preferred a non female doctor, as far as I could work out. Just got called in, not sure if he hung up or not as it is down a corridor.

Oh the quiet is nice now.

When did people decide that the only way to take phone calls in public is on the speaker phone?

I think a lot of people use facetime or alike and forget that a phone can just make calls the old fashioned way.

On my old phone the mic for phonecalls somehow got bunged up or broken, yet it worked fine on loudspeaker (must use a different mic) so that's what I had to do - I was incredibly conscious of looking like I was on The Apprentice every time I took a call 🤣.

Waiting for the mrs to get ready to go out for Indian.
How can it take SO long???

If she’s anything like my good lady, once you get to the restaurant she’ll be painfully slow ordering, and you’ll finish every course at least thirty minutes before she does.

I always remember the first time my wife had fish in a restaurant with me. I finished my meal a full hour before her as she picked every single bone out of her fish and put a single piece on the end of one prong of her fork for every mouthful.

I’ve said to her in the 25 years since that if she ever orders fish in a restaurant I’ll be walking out.

The Dartford crossing. A massive con ever since it was sold. Was suppose to be free once paid for. It's costs have been covered for years now and it's pure profit. Fine cool. Have an account.. no issue

They decide to take it down this weekend as it's been taken over by another company , so rather than going well let's make it free for the weekend , nope lets suspend the payments from your accounts with money in and make you manually pay them by Tuesday

What could possibly go wrong with how many thousand trips needing paying for

Or you could have read the emails sent to you advising of this and make the neccessary changes required from your end.

I did thank you. They have even admited their error as the email said you need to update your payment. Which I went on to do. Then it said from 28th July so I waited

Logged back on today to be told that it will now by Sunday at earliest

"She said the date from which customers could validate their card details had changed since the emails went out to customers on 17 July."

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: That's rich coming from the guy who has spent £xx,000 on solar panels, heat pumps, batteries, and possibly wind turbines and hamster wheels and thinks that he is getting a lot of "free" electricity.

Sorry to burst your bubble but it ain't free until it has paid for your outlay/debts and interest/loss of interest on savings/etc buddy.

Oh bugger.. you've just reminded me I drove to London club and back last week on Tuesday and I can't remember if I went and logged in and paid the Dart charge or not. I'm guessing not. What an appalling system to leave the impetus on the driver. Why not just send a bill? Hmm. 🫤

So. That's what? Another 10/15 years until you get your "free" electricity?

Let us know when you have reached break even point and then we will marvel at how well you have done. Actually, don't bother. By that time I will either be in a home or no longer and either way couldn't give a

Normally my account just runs itself. Both cars are on there £25 credit with auto top up by £20 if drops below £10. Then never have to think about it

But this weekend? Come on.. I'll check my account Monday hope they just take from there, that's the point of it

Well tbh considering from Feb this year we jumped into higher prices and it's now saving £220 pcm in the summertime and projecting £2000 per year it will be well paid off by then

Even at £1500 per year it's under 8 years it's no where near 20k for a system.

But considering a system lasts 25 years yes after it's "paid for" it will have paid for itself twice over once it reaches end of life.

Your panels will have a 25 year warranty, but not the inverter and battery.

Powerwall has a 10 year warranty, right? And we don't know what it's lifetime might be after that. Chances are that it will last significantly longer, but nobody really knows. And as a high usage household it's going to go through a lot of recharge cycles fairly quickly.

As for the inverter, there's plenty of real world evidence that typical MTBF for inverters is about 10 years.

The micro inverters are backed by a 25 year guarantee

Battery 10 yes

I forgot to pay last summer when attending a family wedding. I was able to pay it late and not be fined - seems you get a one strike and you're out...
