"If you don't think a news outlet has bias, it probably means it leans the same direction as you."

That was day one, lesson one when I was a student 40 years ago. Never was a truer word spoken. Things have become more polarised, not less.
The BBC isn't a news outlet and It's seem impartial enough to me, probably too much so at times, giving voice to persons who shouldnt really be anywhere near a TV or radio.

No one has zero bias.

Think about it.

Isn't it?

OK it's not solely a news outlet, but look how much content is news. It runs several channels (not just tv) that are purely news.

It's a massive part of its output amd integral to its Charter.

Yeah and it's probably as close as we can get to unbiased news.
You only have to look at the mail, GB news and such to see what real bias looks like.

I'd say "mildly biased". Back when the B.... issue was going on I wrote in complaining because I was tired of the presenters referring to B....... as falling off a cliff or crashing out of the EU. They could have just stated something about leaving..... One way of presenting it was biased, the term leaving is pretty neutral. I'd like to think they read my messages and responded since they seemed to stop using those terms as much....or maybe I wasn't the only one complaining.

We have a tower fan/heater in the conservatory, where I work from home. Remote control disappeared ages ago as the little one threw it somewhere and it was never seen again. You can control the fan function manually on the device, but not the heating function. It apparently is possible to connect to it through an app and control it that way - but I have tried for over half an hour and it simply will not locate the device. Guess I'll be wearing two jumpers today then.

I had a Sound bar with one of those tiny remotes . We were sat on the sofa using it one minute the next minute gone. Turned the place upside down but could not find it.
6 years later I was getting rid of the old sofa and there it was trapped between 2 bits of the frame.

And I assume you voted Brexit so saw the bias that you wanted to see. Theres plenty of mega bias news that will say what you want to hear if that's your thing.
But terms like crashing out etc are just being used to describe a particular scenario

Getting the consumer to accept an extra 1 or 2p on a pint of milk or loaf of bread is almost impossible.
I'm no fan of Clarkson, but I have watched all 3 of the Farm series, and the standout itme for me was how little the milk farmers got for their milk, because primarily of the big supermarkets.
I have my milk delivered by a milkman. I don't mind paying more for milk in a glass bottle, which is more sustainable, gives employment and also a better price to the dairy farmer.
It's a shame the "Every little helps" slogan doesn't apply to the farmers producing.

Aside from that, whilst I agree farmers do have a tough life (those who own and farm their land) it does seem to be forgotten that small family businesses don't get the IHT relief and they provide employment and tax income just as farmers hopefully do.

In one of the major supermarkets you can buy 'farmers milk' which costs more but the extra goes to the farmer according to the supermarket

I read an interesting piece in the guardian that highlighted how getting changes through are impossible for any government as soon as you effect someone that's it up in arms.

Look at this farmer issue, straight away protests, that's the small end of the scale to address outdated tax system

If we as a country moved to a system where we paid the correct amount of tax there would be riots

Nah. Points of View on a Saturday is always "we're right, the complaining viewer is wrong". It's a fun watch!

Probably for the TV thread but Strictly.
I’ve watched bits and bobs for a while as I’ve been passing through the lounge but wow, it’s really annoying me now how cheesy it has become 🫣

I've given up with it, used to really enjoy it but the thing is too darn long. Padded out with chat about nothing. Don't care about x y and z just wanted to see the dancing comments then next dance

Watched it on catch up before in 30 mins
