Not you obviously but my linked irritation is drivers that expect/assume other drivers will have lane discipline on roundabouts and are surprised when it isn't followed
There's only 2 types of drivers on the road....
Those who are maniacs behind the wheel who think they are Max Verstappen
And those who crawl along at 40 everywhere
There may be a few others but not many

Our local council who decided to turn off the street lights at night to save money but haven't got the technology to tell when the clocks change.
It's not much use having the street lights coming on at 04:56 every morning

Let's face it: there are quite a few roundabouts - usually large ones at major intersections - with multiple lanes that can be pretty confusing for non-locals. The main problem at those is the locals who charge round them at high speed in the correct lanes, not appreciating that visitors are trying to find which lane they should be in.

There are few things that give me more fear when driving than realising I need to change lanes within the space of about 50 yards between sections of one of those large roundabouts. 😰

Normally on those big ones you move across a lane for the next turning. All very simple and easy. We have an exception to that on a pretty major roundabout near to me. It's off the A1, the turning to Newcastle airport. As you travel southbound, you exit and are signposted for the inside lane of 3 on the roundabout. You stay there, passing the exit for those wanting A1 south, 2 lanes. You then have a very short distance, really short, to get to the outside lane for the next turning, the airport. All the time I'm looking at the car outside me hoping like heck that they are not going to cut me up when they realise the lane they are in 🫣😱.

No roundabout should ever have you crossing 2 lanes so quickly, it's an awful design.

Oh there's lots of others.
  • The non-indicators.
  • The middle lane hoggers.
  • Those who don't use their mirrors.
  • Those who can't park properly.
I could go on but I think there are now more bad drivers than good, from my experience

Those are all BMW drivers no?
Oh don't forget the Audi drivers.
If I was to list the boy racer cars now I would say.
  • BMW 1 Series
  • Audi A3
  • Mercedes A Class
All seem to be the weapon of choice.
The problem from when I started is that my first car (a Triumph Herald) could barely reach 70, let alone the speed that modern cars can achieve. Also, there were none of the safety features built in to the car, so you did feel a measure of vulnerability. Modern cars are far faster and more capable than when I started. The trouble is, if you exceed the limits of the vehicle, the effects can be catastrophic. And there are no distractions. Just a radio (and a cassette or 8-track if you were posh) but that was about it. Nowadays, so many people are on their phones whilst driving, it's frightening.

I was on a roundabout that I have not used for years and ended up in the wrong lane, needed to be one over to the outside, we were stopped at traffic lights on the roundabout, I turned on my left indicator and pulled away slowly waiting for a gap to squeeze into and the guy in the car I ended up infront of was not happy at all, I held my hands up , I had made a mistake, there was no aggression in my manoeuvre but he wasn't pleased.

Finally got through to someone...we can't give results over the phone. I'll get the consultant to write to you.
I think the worst one is you call them say a month after a test

Nothing wrong, we don't contact you if it's all clear

Awful way of working

How can you tell if all clear , results delayed or simply lost?

Just a txt "all clear" would work

That's shocking isn't it.

I had the procedure done in November 2023 and have to do 2 tests to see if it's successful. Coming up to a year. I'll never slate the NHS but there must be a quicker way than this.

I regularly get tested for fatty liver because the medication I'm on sends out the signals that my liver is in trouble when it isn't. So I have to suffer a blood test and then an ultrasound around the liver which is uncomfortable to say the least.

Then it's all clear I wait like 3 weeks and ask them "yeah all clear"

Just blooming tell us!!!!

Information is king no?

I hate having a pop at the NHS but the missus has been passed from pillar to post for the last 2 years regarding the follow up op she needs. It’s like now she’s ok they have put her to the very bottom of the list rather than having it done within a few months like they initially told us.

There are lots of types of drivers on the road and in the main most are good drivers bag drive sensibly

There will always be the minority that are outside the norm

Don’t think it’s right to pigeon hole or lump everyone into groups in that way
