Yep. It's bizarre that the specific perfections they look for are largely the result of genetic mutations that have been selectively bred into the dogs by humans.
For me, the best dogs you'll see at Crufts are those competing in the Flyball tournament, most of which are hybrids, crossbreeds and outright mongrels.

Yep. I love the agility - the flyball is a bit too much hyper dogs and awful team kit for me :)

Delightful gentleman just came and adjusted a bearing on the tumble to fix the squeak coming from it.

Why is this annoying? Why on earth did the other game who come last year not do that!

He came 3 times. Everytime he spent 10 mins "putting some oil" on the back but never took the cover off (how did you oil it)

Then this guy.. comes in here 40 mins. Took it apart. Adjusted it .. said if happens again mention the bearing needs replacing and he's gone with the squeak removed

That first guy. Jezzz

People absolutely losing a grip on reality because someone dared to send out a photo with some bad photoshop editing. The way some (most?) people on Jeremy Vine this lunchtime were going on you would have thought that Kate had killed the rest of the royal family and run off with the crown jewels!

Edit: Srixon 1 beat me to it whilst I was typing :)

The ooh ah about the royal photo. Who actually gives a flying …. that it has been manipulated?
Personally I don’t think that’s the story here, a dodgy photo, so what. The media is in meltdown. For me, Catherine has had abdominal surgery. Missis T has mentioned that the time she spent in hospital, it’s major surgery she has had and she has her thoughts on what it was. That said, she needs rest and recuperation not the stress of a poorly cropped photo.
Am also sure that if it was Meghan, there would now be calls for a public flogging.

Time to move on and give her some space.

I’m actually loving it. Some of the stuff is so crackers that its hilarious.
The guy from Republic is the best though, seems he’s been getting high on his own supply, likening giving a photo a wee edit to people’s loss of freedoms and political singularity of Soviet Russia and “deceiving the British public”, whit? 😂.

Best comment I read was “at this point Kate needs to issue a photo holding today’s news paper” thinking it was a joke only to realise they were dead serious.

Just outta interest, does this years Crufts winner eat pedigree chum. It was very strange that within 20 minutes of the winner of Crufts being announced, there was an advertisement stating the dog ate Pedigree chum 😳

The word chum. Just reminds me of the blood and guts that they chucked over the side of the boat in Jaws. We don’t have a dog, and the few people I know that do, don’t feed it/them Pedigree Chum.

I would be amazed if anyone showing dogs would feed them this. Go onto a few dog sites and there is no love there for tinned dog food. I don't blame someone for taking the payment but I don't believe what the advert is claiming.

Personally, I think Crufts should be abolished. The Kennel Clubs dictats on what certain breeds should look like are frankly disgusting.

I'm inclined to agree. They are trying to improve but simply don't accept responsibility for the health issues they created by asking for more and more extreme characteristics.

I don't understand the whole showing of dogs really - apart from cutest puppy at the local village show :)

Exactly. Look at the Bulldog, and how they have made them so wide they don't get past 10 yrs, or suffocate to death.
White Boxers, put down at birth because they aren't recognised as a "breed colour"
