Ill yet again. Banging headache, sore throat and all my limbs aching this time, must be a flu. It's like I don't have an immune system anymore. My little girl was ill over a week ago so I'm not sure if I got it off her, just a bit delayed, or whether I need to keep away from her so she doesn't catch it off me! 🙁
Turns out it was tonsillitis, and still getting worse four days later. Have now gone and got antibiotics. Can barely force down a sip of water at the moment, it's excruciating. I've had tonsillitis plenty of times before but this is one of worst ever. Neck glands swollen so it even hurts to bend forward or move my head too much. Grim.

Never understood why they don't just take them out here in the UK....especially if you've had it plenty of times.

I've had tonsillitis a few times now, when I asked the question, was told that it effects your immune system so don't like to remove them anymore.

Prob also a bit of cost involved

Don't like to fix something unless it's fully an issue

I had minor tears in my knee "your able to walk it's fine"

When the ACL finally ruptured they operated

Yeah, I probably only get it once or twice a year. I think they only remove them nowadays if you're getting it all the time, like several times a year.

I mean, if my immune system has got to where I am right now I'd still trade it to get rid of the things probably. 😄

Radial arm saw arrived from the good ole US of A.
First irritation is that they never included the adapter lead that they said they would. No major biggy, £120 for one though.

Secondly, I may have underestimated the size of the bloody thing. Its huge. Going to need to do a total rejig of the workshop to fit it in. The CNC bed takes up most of the space being 8’ x 4’ but this thing isn’t far behind.

Think the bandsaw is going to need to go on a mobile base to move it out of the way unless in use. Same with the jointer.

Think mobile bases are about £100 each for that weight 😭.

Radial arm better be worth it 😬

General politeness of next door

I mean come on.. a little "oh we have work starting Monday" would be nice

I've spoken to the builders and no skips are arriving today and when they do I've said not on the shared drive

Less said about the can of drink on the powerwall the better

Cheeky buggers

Can a dog with cryptorchidism never be a Crufts winner? Seems rather unfair that a simple birth defect cancels out a perfectly able and possibly breedable dog.
No idea, I don't make the rules 🤷‍♀️ . This isn't about being a great dog, best pet etc, it's a beauty contest for dogs and so everything has got to be right.

We have a show cocker, don't show her, and when we were getting her there was another pup waiting to be collected. The person collecting it had chosen that one over ours as they wanted to show their dog and ours apparently has a slight colour patch around her eye which would rule her out of winning competitions. Strange world, dog shows.

A freight company damaged a shipment of ours last June so badly it was skipped. All on CCTV, they accepted full liability. It has taken 9 months for their insurance company to pay the claim and the amount is one decimal point in the wrong direction. Absolutely fuming but I suspect there is nothing we can do, apart from never using that company again.

According to Google...

The reason for a dog being required to have 'Two testicles fully descended into the scrotum', was originally because Monorchidism or Cryptorchidism, can be hereditary, so was seen as a fairly serious fault in a male.

Anyhow. Despite all they say the KC still, for me, promotes unhealthy breed characteristics. They bang on about how each generation they are ensuring improvements when in fact they are the reason for so many health issues due to previous ridiculous breed standards. The German Shepherd last year, and this, that won best in breed still looked to have a very exaggerated sloping top line. They now have a Category 3 Breed Watch for judges - trying to undo the exaggerated shape the KC originally wanted.

Yep. It's bizarre that the specific perfections they look for are largely the result of genetic mutations that have been selectively bred into the dogs by humans.
For me, the best dogs you'll see at Crufts are those competing in the Flyball tournament, most of which are hybrids, crossbreeds and outright mongrels.
