Sellers that don't understand how feedback is supposed to work.

Seller lists an item as near mint. Item is very far from near mint and so I leave negative feedback to this effect. Paid price for NM got Good (at best).

Seller then emails me saying that I didn't notify them of a problem and give them a chance to remedy it... How are they going to remedy the item not being NM?

So I responded saying that feedback is designed to help give information on how a transaction went. If they had been honest in the first place about the condition then no negative feedback would have been left. Their call to action is to review their item grading and prevent it from happening in future. It also lets people know that the NM gradings may not be correct and to proceed with caution.

Seller has lodged a complaint with the platform about me, which I have responded to "robustly".

They wanted positive feedback for selling me an item over priced for the condition that it was in, just because they may offer a part refund after the fact. It's becoming more and more common that people just can't handle negative commentary and want the world to work how they think it should.

Aldi de-icer. Doesn’t seem to work especially well when it’s cold.

🙄

I'm out of touch & not using it but wondering if there's been legislation to reduce/remove one of the active ingredients (I remember it happening about 25 years ago with aerosols incl deicer) it meant trigger spray plastic bottle deicer was more effective than aerosol cans, might be worth a go

I can confirm that trigger spray is no better, Holts De Icer proved that this morning 🙄 . I do think you are onto something though. As with many things lots of chemicals that were brilliant at their job, but bad for health, water course, environment etc have now been banned. Their replacements are nowhere near as effective, as we are seeing. This applies to so many things.

Complete tangent , but I remember coming out of work years ago and seeing the cars all iced up. I did mine. Then sprayed my colleagues thinking I was being kind

He wasn't happy I had done it because it's bad for the paint work apparently

😂

Older de-icer was indeed full of chemicals which would damage paintwork.

Where do you get that from? Edit : Don't worry, I did what I should have done originally and googled it. For others, it is a Car Plan job so Home Bargains and multiple other places.

Incidentally, if we are doing recommendations and so on, avoid RAC de-icer. Easily the most ineffective I've ever used.

Sorry, I should have said. However, I've just ordered 4 bottles from Amazon as our Home Bargains haven't any in.
