As far as I know, I've never interacted with anyone from the forum on any other platform, and I don't listen to any podcasts. Happy to correct you and accept your apology.
LIV failed because it doesnt offer a high enough level field, which has a Dads Army feel to it, and, the format 'innovations' are a turnoff rather than attraction to the vast majority of golf fans.
It didnt fail because it is funded by the oil money of a backward state - we will still all be watching the Saudi world cup in 2034.
LIV failed because LIV did a bad job on the product.

4 of them made the 2021 Ryder Cup Team. Those 4 players were involved in 5 and half of the nine points team Europe won.

That's a very weak argument. The elements, depite being factually correct, do not add up to a cogent rebuttal to captainron. That it is so weak highlights the weakness of the LIV players.
You were missing the one that goes Phil has more majors, and has won one more recently, than McIlroy, and is thus a higher level player currently...

No one cares about a losing Ryder Cup effort 2 years ago. Those lads were all on the slide and heading for the seniors tour. They were has beens who took a rake load of cash to play rubbish exhibition golf.

Padraig Harrington thought they were all good enough - sliding or not - I'm just making the point that your view that their best was way in the past lacks any substance. Garcia played a vital part in getting a few scarce points 2 years ago - while players that are still revered by many were struggling to get any points at all. Plenty of golfers on the PGAT are past their best mate - doesn't quantify calling them out as dregs, or has beens. Anyway, better to have been a has been than a never been. Mickelson is past his best but it didn't stop him winning a major a couple of years back.

Looks like The Open and Masters have pretty much said no to giving LiV automatic spots.
Incredible given the awards LiV has just won. Even if no one has ever heard of them before.
Now they are using a ranking system system that someone has put together on excel in their bedroom in their spare time.
For all of the big deals just about to land. Poulter has jus got a local car dealership to sponsor him.
All they have is “look how much money we have”.
The top players really need a deal done with the PGAT to remain relevant.
The TGL, which is just a fancy computer game has had more investment from outside sources.

I'm guessing they are happy enough with the LIV players that are already exempt anyway, and they are not overly bothered about any of the LIV players that do not qualify based on current criteria?
I'm surprised Poulter even bothered about sponsorship from a local car dealership. Surely the money he gets from that is miniscule compared to what he earns from LIV. It must be a car dealership that is close to his heart, and he is motivated to do it for other reasons than money?
