Did I hear that they asked Rahm how much it would take to get him to join and they wouldn't match it..?
Not-so-bottomless pit of money then.....

There's 2 takeaways in that.... the one you point out, and the other being he gave them a figure. Not-so-bottomless and too-greedy-even-for-the-pif!

I think Eddie Pepperall reported this bit of 'news' and implied it was a such a ridiculously high figure that they were never likely to match it. He didn't give a number though.

Just heard Bob Harig from Sports Illustrated mention something on a podcast that he proposed Liv are considering for next year.

On the Monday/Tuesday there will be a qualifying event for that weeks Liv Event.
The top 4 qualify and make up a team called "The Renegades"

Gives pro's a chance to get on a Liv Event and earn big money through the individual and team event.
If you qualify you are guaranteed a minimum of $120,000
Everybody loves an underdog story and I think there would be lots of interest in how The Renegades do.
Team would be branded with uniforms etc

Also provides another much needed pathway for pro golfers to be able to get into events on the Liv Tour.

Do we think this is a good idea ??

Think it would add a huge amount of spice to LIV - but you know that the PGAT will place sanctions on anybody that even dares to enter - and as the PGAT noqw run European Golf - it would exclude a huge amount of players that we might be familiar with.
Having said that - the European Tour is on the cusp of collapsing as we have known it - and I'm sure there's a bunch of players that are now looking at The Asian tour as a viable and more lucrative alternative - so yeah, I'd love to see it introduced.

Bob Harig spoke really well in the podcast, very balanced and made some great points.

If the 'golf governance gang' have indicated this would be the final jigsaw piece for granting the seemingly much wanted points, then yep.
DPWT did seem to soften their stance at the Dunhill, although think there were caveats, if them and PGAT keep a hard line then the qualifiers may not be such a big bunch, but it may help with the reserve situation also.

Players that are eligible to enter the LIV qualification event round1 - provided they are prepared to part with the eye watering sum of $25. :ROFLMAO:

The lists don't include the players that are already exempt and will enter round 2 - if they so wish.

Most reports im reading/hearing suggesting the framework agreement is more likely to fall apart than move to a definitive agreement.

One source was a DPWT official who told Eddie Pepperil at an event and he mentioned it on his podcast.

Also quite a few reports that the deadline is going to move back to The Masters in April.
That will only happen if both sides think there is a chance of an agreement, if there are inconceivable differences then you would think it will fall apart on the current 31st December deadline

More & more feeling like it was a move purely to remove compromising things for both parties away from the courtrooms.
Plus much of the initial bluster seemed to suggest 'red lines' that would make compromise tricky.

PGAT have officially rejected the Endeavour deal - might suggest that the PIF merger is still going ahead.

And for those of you that wondered where the investment was going to come from in LIV, and that it has failed…

As Phil said - it’s a game of chess and we’re on the first moves…

And Phil is a pawn who thinks he’s one of the players!

He's still the CEO.

Here's a genuine question for you: how does anyone manage to be so anti something they know almost nothing about?
My views are based on the golf, not the personalities behind it. I wouldnt have known Monahans name 18 months ago for example.

How can you know anything about something you haven't watched, and why comment so frequently about the politics and personalities?
