I saw a suggestion that Vincent might be picked up by The Stingers to replace Schwarzel - would make some sense with him being from an African country or do The Stingers want to remain totally South African?
No idea where Wolff goes, I know Brooks has been criticised for the way he's publicly sacked the guy off, but Phil was happy to let him swap last year as well - so maybe he's just a difficult character - with that in mind, which Team Captain wants to take him on? You've got to be looking at one of the bottom half teams that would be looking to strengthen with a player that has undoubted talent, but might be tricky to keep happy. Would Phil event take him back - he's lost a man in Piot unless he somehow wins his spot back through the qualification event in December. If not there then it would either be Na's IronHeads or the Cleeks - McDowells 2 year contract is up and he's in 42nd place in the Open Zone, and Weisberger sits just above him which suggests the team needs strengthening by replacing one of those two players.

If the field size increases as some think it may, then I think all the guys in that Open Zone are pretty safe to be fair - LIV will have some players coming over but not sure there'd be the dozen needed for some new teams, plus a good few more to strengthen the existing teams.
Having looked who might be playing in December there's a fair chance an Ozzie may make it through so that may solve itself. Certainly some potentially odd conversations may be happening around the teams, but guess it's 'business'

Ex world number 1’s, Major winners and Ryder Cup hero’s.

Ok mate. 😂
Exes though. Not currents.

LIV would have had a chance had they gotten more than the handful of relevant current top players. But they had to make do with too much filler, and try to spin virtue out of necessity. But Westwood and McDowell etc were never going to provide serious competition to the PGAT in the publics mind. Champions tour though yes.

Of the handful of genuine top rank they did sign, they are all Americans. So much for spreading the game and interest around the world. There was no current player missing from Europes Ryder Cup team. Why no current Euros grabbed an offer we dont know. Or maybe just that the 5 Americans all had specific reasons, injury, decline, gripes with the PGAT to motivate them over the line.

Rather a lot of these Americans seem to be from Australia, Chile, South Africa, Mexico, England, Belgium, Spain, etc.

The team transfers are going to be interesting.

For Liv to continue to hold my interest the teams need to bring in new top talent rather than move the current talent around.

If no top players are added next year I can see pme losing interest in it.

One thing which is bad for me is The Majestiks situation.
Their play has been awful, they should all be in danger of being transferred out due to poor play yet 3 of them are captains so only one player can be changed.
Piss poor that, should only be one captain per team
Yep, looks like a win for the contract negotiators there! Stenson has been playing better recently TBF, even Westwood managed a -7 or something in last individual round - too little too late though.
On this year's form Bland would strengthen but would push the average up further so not a good PR move. Could do with a strong player in though.

Probably a wee bit harsh in my opinion.
It's definitely fair to say that Westwood, Poulter etc have put there best days behind them now, but what cant be argued is the service they gave the European Tour, although that works both ways.
On the support it subject, Id say it's probably because of how it's financed, there seems to be very extreme views on this.
LIV gets the bad press on how it's financed but look at the Ladies Saudi Aramco Series, Formula 1, Newcastle United and probably loads more that I'm missing, they don't seem to get half the grief LIV does.
Think it was mentioned, but LIV is very different. Had PIF just come along and said they were investing in the PGAT to take control, then people would still watch the PGAT. They may grumble about where the money is coming from, but essentially PIF are not a threat to the current golf they currently watch (unless they absolutely destroyed the format and made it unwatchable)

Formula 1 going to the Middle East doesn't change the fans experience, it just gives them more races to watch and the best drivers still competing together. But if PIF tried to buy some F1 drivers to create a separate drivers championship, then I guess it would not be popular and would get a bad press.

PIF investing in Newcastle doesn't change the fans experience, and in fact enhances it as they should do better in the transfer market. But had PIF tried to buy players and create their own league separate to the Premier League, I doubt it would do well (in fact, you can pretty much look to the popularity of the Saudi Arabian League from a fans perspective).

And fans moaned about a World Cup in Qatar, but it was essentially still THE World Cup. It wasn't a separate tournament entirely, payed for by PIF. So fans still watched it.

Your last post on this thread was a personal dig at me Dave, maybe you can try something more constructive next time?
Maybe you can try something constructive next time instead of the same nonsensical crap every time? Nobody believes what you say and repeating it over and over isn't going to change anyone's opinion and it makes you look silly.

Surely they'll struggle to attract any new big name players now? Anyone that would have jumped at the chance of the money has already done it. And they had the defence of naivety, whereas anyone moving now knows full way they won't be getting ranking points. So who's going to go?? Not anyone that values their place in the majors and doesn't have an exemption. Not anyone that currently has a good chance of making the next Ryder Cup team either.
Think that is probably right, the upper echelons on the PGAT are now very well looked after, going to be pulling in big $ with potentially reduced competition (with the changes).
Might have some joy with DPWT players who qualify for a PGAT card but don't fancy going near full time in the USA, and those just missing out on those cards.
With the RC being so home team favoured these days, maybe some Euros won't be so desperate to go to bethpage for a battering 😂

When your sole purpose in commenting is to ridicule & attack an individual, nothing you say carries any weight, and there's only one person who looks silly.

There was nothing personal in what I posted but some of his posts I find insulting to the intelligence of most people on here but you carry on sticking up for him if you wish.
