I have the same dilemma every year, about renewing my membership, my club is the nearest club to me (about 5 mins away) unfortunately it's only a nine hole course and there are a couple of 18 hole courses within about 15-20 mins drive away.
What I am wondering is how many of you are members at a club that is not your nearest?

My nearest club is 10 mins max, where I was a member for many years. I quite literally drive past 4 other clubs, in sight from the road, to get to my club which is 20-30mins away.

My club is only 15 minutes away but in that range there are probably another 8sih courses. So spoilt for choice!

My nearest club is 5 mins away. The one I play at is 25 minutes away. When looking for a club my cut off time was 30 minutes. Any more than that and I wouldn't join.

I drive past 3 golf clubs to reach mine, 25 minutes away. There are 7 that are closer to me.
No-one of them come close to the quality of Westerham.

Got 3 closer to me than the one I'm a member at. 2 courses, great practice area and range, soon to be a par 3 up there. About 20 mins from my door. The closer courses just arnt as good quality wise

5mins drive. I could drive 20mins to any of Hindhead, North Hants, Blackmoor or Camberley Heath but mine's on my doorstep and pretty darned good. Hankley Common is less than 15mins but I couldn't be bothered waiting or paying their entry fee and subs

One closer to home but it is an utter goat track in my opinion. The two next close are equidistant from home, left one to join the other, 10 minute journey.

My club is ten minutes from home, but there is one at half the distance. Happy where I am, but have yet to play the nearer one, which I intend to do next year just to see what it's like.

Mine is 28 door to door by car or 22 miles on my bike.

its quite close to work tho.

It takes between 5 and 10 minutes to get to my club from home, depending on traffic, while in the opposite direction there is another club that takes a max of 5 mins to get to and I was a member there as a second club for a couple of years.

From my front garden I could hit a 4i to the 8th tee and its a 2 min drive to my nearest club................... But I'm not a member of that club, mines 5 miles away and a drive of 10-15 min away.

The 2 closest clubs to me are about equal distance away
Course ( A ) that I'm a member of
Then there's course ( B ) , Close House, the fees which I just simply couldn't justify, and as I'm neither a millionaire, or a current/former premier league footballer, then I just wouldn't fit in........
Facilities are great, but it's not a golf club, it's a golf venue
