Distance from your home course

Eight miles.
All red lights 25 mins 😳
Green lights 10 mins👍
There’s lots of traffic lights on my route.

Nothing worse at 5am than lights going red when there’s nothing in the side road.

5.9 miles, but still takes 15 minutes as it's down country lanes and can be (emergency) stop/start. There's a more major road route but that's 20 minutes.

The control strategy of traffic lights can be different. There are some junctions where the authority set the signals to turn red if there is a detection of a fast moving vehicle on the approach. If you approach the lights at sensible speed, they'll stay green (assuming there isn't a demand for any of the other stages). If you speed, they'll turn red before you get to the stopline and make you stop. I'm not saying they tend to do this at most junctions, but I'm aware it is something that is done at places around the UK. So, if you regularly approach at 5am, try slowing down a bit (assuming you typically drive fast) and see if that makes a difference.

Or maybe they just have the side road stage set to run green when there is no traffic demand (usually sits on the main road stage at most junctions), to slow down all approaching traffic on main road. Or detection equipment might be knackered and it just cycles inefficiently through every stage at all times, even when they are not needed.

Worst one is into a housing estate.
Does it all the time.
I think it goes red when it sees traffic on the main road.
