Losing a lot of golf in the area

Woodlands a pay and play 36 hole facility at the junction of the M4 and M5 is closing as it has been sold for houses.

Be a real shame to lose Woodlands, along with Shortwood GC, which they sold a few years back, these are the courses I learned to play on. Nearly always open, apart from the depths of winter, are in decent condition and always busy.

Has this been confirmed? Last reports in the news back in February, the council had designated Woodlands as a preferred site which to me means planning permission is a formality and it's just a matter of time.
