Grenfell “Bonfire”

Football tragedies will always evoke certain emotions dependant on, I guess what team you support. I'd be fairly confident that Celtic fans have cracked many a joke about the Ibrox disaster, much like Man U fans have about Hillsborough and Liverpool fans about Munich, what's funny to some is crass and disgusting to others, is that a crime ?
I've never said it was a crime. I think it's distasteful.

I don't make jokes that have a tragedy as the punchline. It's just not something I do. I don't understand those that find it funny. I can only imagine myself being one of those affected, and then hearing someone making a joke about it.

So, do you think it's ok to make jokes about football disasters? Your reply is a bit ambiguous.

I have an almost zero interest in football, though that doesn't answer your question, have I laughed at a joke in the past about a football disaster, probably, I'd be surprised if most haven't.

Are there any areas that you would deem off limits?

Probably things that effect me personally but outwith that, I can laugh at most things, however, that's not to say I found that vid amusing, I didn't but I can see how those involved thought it light hearted fun.

I can't. I think they're moronic small minded bigots without a shred of decency or intelligence. But maybe I'm the one in the wrong.

Golfing in Portugal last weekend.

Overheard a scouser asking for sparkling water.

This prompted my mate to obviously make fun of the accent. And one of his impressions was “justice for the 96” in the scouse twang.

Personally thought it was funny. His impression of the accent was very good.

Don't ever go to the Edinburgh Fringe, you'll not enjoy it (y)
What, all of it? Seems strange seeing as the winner of this years best show is a woman discussing how she's out there looking for one night stands. Maybe your sex life is a tragedy but hers seems pretty funny 😉

I actually think I seen her :ROFLMAO: I kid you not.

This thread has been going for around 12 hours. When I saw the video I thought what terrible people and how could they post something so vile.

Surely everybody on here will have the same sentiment.

However as usual we go widely off track now talking about The Edinburgh Fringe, great may I say and still UNABLE TO AGREE on something so simple!

OK Grenfell tower and Madeline McCann are two horrible tragedies.

Why can people make fun of Madeline McCann, it is on Cards against Humanity which is sold in every big supermarket/department store in the country.

But Grenfell Tower is now illegal humour?

Sick humour is often how the military, fire services, police and emergency medical staff actually cope with the horrible stuff they experience. I'm not defending the daft idiots who made public a highly disgusting 'Grenfell' event, but to pretend this sort of behavour is unique and criminal is to deny the real world of humans nature,.

Someone in this topic reckons a high court judge will see to them, a high court judge, just think about that for a second

I think it’s because that’s private .. and this was made public by somebody posting the video on twitter

If they hadn’t posted the video I don’t think it would be an offence

I know a few lads that may not have been so amused, but you have to know your audience.

But if he posted it online that’s another matter.
That is the main problem with most things these days.

Doesn’t have to contain a racial aspect

It seems it’s all order section 5 of causing offence and distress so yep it’s a crime and yep it’s illegal hence why they have been arrested

For any PO offence you need to prove intent. There is no way that can be proved in this case, I would put money on this not even getting to court.
