Grenfell “Bonfire”

Somebody took time and effort to make the mock up, took the piss whilst it burned (including out of the firemen) then allowed themselves to be filmed.
Surely if the home owner had said, don’t film this or delete the video or...or etc, Joe public would be non the wiser and it would of remained a private joke.
Who do you suggest is responsible for the video coming out?

Sorry wasn't commenting about anything else on your post apart from you said but you did not response to:unsure:

as I have been in situations/events/get togethers that I was there, I could not have controlled if someone was filming/uploading and have walked out of in disgust.

To say 'those in attendance only have themselves to blame' was just wow to me as a result.o_O

Peoples lives can be seriously messed around with, as a result of this or merely attending, and may not even be part of the 'event' that happened and strongly disagree with. They could be innocent, just being there doesn't instantly make people guilty and to say those in attendance only have themselves to blame, just wow.

Have the perpetrators been hanged from the gallows yet...as some seem to be baying for their execution.
For clarification. I don't think what they've done is Criminal. I don't want them hung.

However, if they were my Friends/Family they'd now be ex-Friends/Family. If they turned up for an interview I was conducting they wouldn't get the job. Etc!

Character is important, and theirs is sadly lacking.

This article sums it up very well
Another article that fails to understand that they put it into the public domain which means they then put themselves up for possible punishment under public order act.

Because they put it into the public domain then they let themselves open to cause hurt and suffering and distress to others especially people caught up in the fire

If they hadn’t put it into the public domain then nothing would have happened. They only have themselves to blame

Sorry who is "they" and what is "public domain"

One person filiming it and putting it on whatsapp is not the actions of the full group

Stick them in the stocks and throw rotten tomatoes at them. They need shaming rather than fining or convicting of anything.

Too many feel it OK to tell with impunity unsavoury/tasteless/hurtful jokes etc in private. Problem is these views are in their thinking - even if only marginally and at a low level - but the thinking is there and it will sometime be manifest in public through hateful, spiteful or offensive comments. If you do not pull people up for telling or doing such things - even in private - then we are complicit in maintaining an public environment in which racism/sexism/'poorism' etc are able to continue to flourish.

These people are cretins although what I don't understand is, people can do something like this in their own back garden (and yes, stupidly post it online for the world to see) and end up being named and shamed in the papers, have their photos plastered all over the press, the police raid their properties yet other groups publicly march through a town, burning the Union Jack etc and a blind eye seems to be turned.

Are the former an easy target whilst the latter would be too much of a political move to run through the same process?

How is burning a Union Jack any sort of relevance to mocking a lot of people dying ? There is zero connection at all

I wonder what the outcry would be if this was Muslims mocking 9/11 ? Reckon the reaction would be a damn sight different

Over the years I have always struggled with forums where other people's opinions are different to mine, not sure if it's my working class, socialist background or my influences of punk rock in the late seventies or even my belief that Thatcher is/was and always will be the root of all evil in this world but I really need to stick to golf topics on here from now on cause I am light years away from some of the posts made in this topic. :ROFLMAO:

I think what they did was sick, BUT i think that is still way off as far as comparisons go.

One is a tragic accident, they happen. The other never should have and was perpetrated my murderers.

As much as I agree with some these sentiments, being so closed minded and unable to debate makes you just as bigoted as those you loathe, imo of course.

I think you'll find I'm very happy to debate, to the point I could do it all day and night, however, it seems some on here don't find my debating to their liking, which I find very amusing. (y)

Because if you look at the reports and those that were in attendance we are talking about possibly no more than a dozen people, different scenario to a crowd.
The homeowner would of known those guests personally and probably known their sense of humour, unfortunately for him, one of them has messed up releasing the video,

You’re the only one making snide comments. (y)

For example ? and don't go quoting the roasters comment as I've answered that, I'm on about previous discussions where I have questioned folks posts to get answers, then get abuse thrown at me, which again I find hilarious.
