As we gain experience in golf there are some 'rules' that are picked up along the way. They aren't in the R&A handbook.
What rules have you observed?
Here's a couple for starters:

1. A provisional shot will always be perfect.

2. The more you spend on golf balls the quicker you will lose them.

When a 'Pick and Place on Fairway' local rule is in operation, where a ball is sitting in a position where On/Off the fairway is in doubt, that ball is always deemed to be On the fairway.

That would be a nice rule which would fit in with current rules
A ball is always treated as lying in only one area of the course:
• If part of the ball is in both the general area and one of the four specific areas of the course, it is treated as lying in that specific area of the course .
etc
