There is not a single referee that gets every decision right

It’s always worth noting that a significant amount of decisions are subjective and down to one person opinion

If a qualified referee believes that a tackle is a foul then that’s surely a subjective call and down to them

A player is no more qualified to tell a referee that his subjective opinion is wrong. If the referee can justify the call to the people who manage them ( not the players ) that’s all that’s needed

Whilst it should be ok for conversations to be held between players and officials there does need to be a cut off - they shouldn’t be required to explain to every player the decision he has made
Spot on, perfect example in the Chelsea v Newcastle game yesterday, late penalty to Chelsea, goes to VAR, Newcastle players come rushing in, Longstaff gobs off and is booked, Bruno G is telling other players (as Captain) to go away and let him deal with it.

VAR sends ref to monitor, overturns his decision, no penalty, Longstaff booking stays in place.

Now, some of their fans were saying it should be rescinded etc, but if Longstaff had kept his mouth shut and let the Captain deal with it, he wouldn’t of got booked.

Quite simple really.

Anybody see the Belgian footballer last week who tried to remove a flare from the pitch. It blew up in his hand, he lost his entire index finger, half his thumb and half of his middle finger.

I think the flare was thrown on in celebration. Who on earth thinks throwing an explosive onto the pitch is a good idea?

Yesterday's performance wasn't ETH's fault, but I thought Goldbridge put it well. If you're already on thin ice, you don't have to jump on it to break it, sometimes it just breaks.

I'm glad INEOS and their people didn't rush into a decision this summer, when most of them hadn't even started work. There have been a few bad displays defensively, but the primary problem this year has been a complete lack of talent in front of goal. I suspect ETH will do well elsewhere, but the constant scrutiny on his future just became tiring. Disappointed that things have panned out the way they have, but the writing was on the wall. It is not an unfamiliar feeling at Utd for quite some time, where players have played like amateurs under several managers. I don't know if it is a culture thing, or what, inside the club, as players have come and gone over the last decade.

The interesting thing will now be, what happens? If ETH was truly the problem, do people thing a semi decent manager can get these players fighting in the top 4 or top 6 minimum? Who will the manager be? Will Utd only look at out of work managers, or will they let Ruud manage for the rest of the season and will they look to see if they can get a manager currently in a job. Will it be Southgate or Potter  ?

My biggest relief is that we don't have to hear the similar ETH bashings every time Man Utd don't win, and we can somehow have privacy when mourning our shortcomings :)

So just some areas then? Some is about Liverpool? Maybe that’s what happens when honours are even?🤷‍♂️

Is there ? Not sure tbh

Looking at both BBC and Sky the analysis is focused on Arsenal

Personally, I wouldn't have wanted Tuchel, just like I didn't want Conte a few years ago. Managers with a reputation of falling out with those above them, and their personality almost becomes bigger than the club. I started to hate the circus that Mourinho often caused. Yes, I want a manager with confidence and perhaps a bit of ego. But, it is a fine line.

I'll do my best to get behind whoever we get, and hope for the best. But, there are certain managers I'd rather not have in the first place
