The EFL Thread

I can see you not being allowed in the play off. It depends imo if they meet the deadline

I can see that too but after the extension has been granted. No way they make such a big call during the season.

The situation is so bad that part of me would take a season in non league if it meant we were free from Yongge.

Strong rumours the EFL will extend the deadline until May 6th, providing serious progress is being made on the sale.

The winding up order has been removed so it looks like more things gathering pace behind the scenes.

Proper blood and thunder match between Derby & Luton. Luton currently 1 up but it’s real backs to the wall stuff. Perhaps not pretty but loads of passion.

Not pretty?!

I would suggest bloody awful as a better description.

Obviously a lot at stake for each side but even so no amount of passion can excuse the almost total lack of football skills.

It was entertaining in a way

I’m sure the poor pitch didn’t help

Not sure why it was so bare

I agree that the pitch didn't help, apparently it is being dug up and replaced in the close season.

But if I am watching a game as a neutral I want to see a bit more than just passion and commitment.

Pathetic performance today, the lack of squad deoth exposed just at the worst time. Almost got away with it as Bolton lost and Orient were 3-1 down, before scoring 3 goals in 6 minutes.

We've got the easier games on paper but momentum has been lost.

I know it is said these things don't affect players but with the upcoming EFL deadline I wonder if they have been distracted with everything going on behind the scenes. It is always tough to lose especially with Orient doing a "Man Utd" and coming back from the dead. Just got to keep the faith

I wouldn't like to use that an excuse as it's been going on for so long it's become almost normality Homer. If anything it was probably the pressure that got to us today as we had 16,300 there and very few away fans. Atmosphere was brilliant and we just didn't turn up.

I think the years of transfer embargos and selling two of our best players this season also played a part. We've literally got nothing up front now and unless we get a penalty or score a worldie we struggle.

Orient have got Wycombe and Huddesfield in the run in, so there's a good chance they could slip up but we're going to need a few big performances on the road!

Norwich joining West Brom and Cardiff in sacking their manager since the weekend. Apparently 14 of 24 managers in the division have been changed this season  . That's a brutal division.

And Norwich have Jack Wilshire in charge. Hardly an experienced interim
Just 2 games to go, nothing at stake 🤷‍♂️ . Quite why they don't wait until the end of the season, I don't know. Maybe it means they can get on with searching for a replacement quite openly and get it sorted quicker. Do season ticket renewals come out now? Does it give fans better hope?

By doing it now you can get a new manager in early and start doing business to get the right sort of players in straight away without having to wait until you finally sort out a new gaffer and then try to get the players he wants.

PS - should point out that this was what Rotherham did last year but, despite doing transfer business early, had a miserable season

Another club in the PL and now struggling. It looks like a big job to get them competing for top 6. Mid-table not a good return this season

Statement expected from the club shortly to agree a two week extension.

Amazing performance and result yesterday winning 5-1 at Mansfield. Lewis Wing with another worldie from outside the box which is well worth viewing!

An extension to the extension? How long is this going to drag on for?

Well it's been going on for nearly 2 years so god knows!

I actually think there could be another extension after this as the season would be over and the fixtures aren't sorted out until mid June. It's horrible for the fans as we don't even know if we'll be allowed to take part in the play offs if we were to make it.

This extension has been granted due to the buyer showing there's been progress on the takeover, so at least that's a positive. The reality is we're dealing with an owner that no one has seen for a year and has already killed two clubs.
