Can today really be on his head? His players really let him down , first half they should have been about 4-0 up and second half the decision was a terrible one (even tho I'm delighted with the points)

For once I'd say it wasn't his fault

No, absolutely not, today’s result was entirely down to the players incompetence in the first half and the officials in the second half. It’s the manner of the performances now, ultimately the buck stops with him and I’m convinced that if INEOS had someone else lined up then he’d have gone.

With Tuchel now gone then you’re left with.

Potter
Southgate
Xavi

Or stay with a caretaker until the end of the season

The summer was the chance to make the change

I tend to agree. So, irony being what it is, don’t be surprised to see him sacked.

It’s a mess, but it’s a mess which is now largely of the manager’s making. It is becoming increasingly difficult to defend ten Hag given his baffling deployment of his squad. He’s simply not giving his players a chance to gel and develop as a squad and team owing to the absolutely mystifying selections and formations he has a growing tendency to employ.

I probably raised it on Thursday, but in no way did it make any sense to play a number 10 (Zirkzee) as a lone striker, whilst Hojlund was starting on the bench. That one selection meant playing a full back as a 10, a central defender as a full back, and Lindelof starting his first game in seven months. That is just baffling management in a game they really needed to win given the start United have made in Europe.

It is selections like that, and the staggering misuse so far of Ugarte, which are making ten Hag’s position really difficult. And that is down to him. Nobody else.

Why on earth were you playing with the full backs on the wrong sides?

Dalot aswell has to be one of the best first touch players who's second touch is the worst .. did it again at the end.. brilliant control in the box then floated a pathetic cross for fabianski to catch and fall to the floor to protect

@Fade and Die have you recovered from the shock of a win? Stadium sounded happy on the telly

Think Summerville and soucek really were key. That and todibo is class

Must say soucek under j-lo is class
Did not see that second half performance coming! Talk about chalk and cheese, I think getting Paqueta out of the middle was the real big difference… and tbh I think we deserved it on our 2nd half showing.

Really hope Loppy has learnt that Jimmy must start, also Ings was involved in both goals, I would like to see him getting a few starts whilst the German fella is injured, use Antonio as an impact sub against a tiring defence.

I stand by my earlier comment about the ref, he had been pretty one sided in his decision making prior to the Pen, and it looked to me (the var screen is right in front of me) that he was doing his best to not give the penalty, and the way he indulged the Man U players histrionics before letting Bowen take the kick made me think he sympathised with them.

I’ve seen the Pen a few times and it’s very harsh but really if Man U where any good they should have been out of sight at half time.

Very happy hammer tonight that’s for sure, will enjoy MOTD2 that’s for sure. 😁

Summerville has to play every single match, tbh my front 3 would be him left Bowen right and darn sake just play kudos as a striker . He doesnt like to pass and he harder to get the ball of than Antonio

That said your right ings must start imo until their back

He is a good passer of the ball and stays in the box to get on the end of chances..Antonio never does. To his defence he isn't a striker. Never has been never will be. Ings always puts in a shift for me and is an honest pro.

Technically he got 2 assists today aswell (winning pen counts on fantasy football)

If Summerville doesnt start the next game I will lose a bit of respect for j-lo

Paquata looks so out of sorts, he needs to be benched

Out of the four leagues, only one team is unbeaten 😉, which is now probably the kiss of death. After nine games, top of the league with both KDB and Rodri missing.
I thought Liverpool were very niggly today, probably trying to get under Arsenals skin with there recent discipline thought Arsenal coped with it well.

Which is why ETH is still employed IMO.
It was a huge summer for United and imo INEOS handled it all really badly

It felt like it was clear that ETH wasn’t the manager they wanted but in the end they were stuck with him and then had to give him a nice new contract - with that and the prolonged chase of Edwards it’s not a surprise imo that he continues to struggle

After 2 and a bit seasons it’s still unknown what his style is and then some of the nonsense in the media

I don’t think United can afford to sack him now but I don’t think they can afford to keep him
