First time at the new Spurs stadium today with the boy.

Not really much to report from the game. It was pretty dull. Spuds didn’t look like they were allowed to go into the Palace defensive half.

There was a lot of empty seats which probably didn’t help the atmosphere. Which was quite. I thought the Norwich crowd was docile, but the Spurs fans may have surpassed them. Although they do like a whinge.

Interested to know, what did you think of the refs performance?

How did you find the stadium? Not been for football but I’ve been to every NFL game there and imo it’s simply the best stadium in the country. Everything about it is first class… apart from the team based there!

I saw the post re Liverpool playing the national anthem before all prem games as per the premier leagues request As soon as it came out on the BBC. I was going to post a link because I knew that it would rear its head on here and other forums. Liverpool as a club had released a statement saying “ they knew some fans would not like it”. I get that, I totally get that But respect goes both ways. I find it astonishing that Liverpool, City, Utd and other clubs have history of being vile to one another through chants and songs and tremendous efforts are made to try and stamp it out. Yet it is still deemed as acceptable by some to behave in that manner. I just don’t get it and unfortunately that is why some fans have issues with some of the Liverpool fans. But not all. Once more it is the minority

With Liverpool fans it's not a minority
... There is a reason they are up there as the most hated fans

Even fans who normally don't get into that sort of thing say they can't stand their entitled attuides..their god given right to win things

We had the pleasure of living in Manchester for a good number of years during Fergie’s golden era. Even mild mannered, easy going guys get rather toxic and tribal about their club, especially if they’re losing.

Most of fans “dislike” ( not sure someone would “hate” someone based on the club they support ) normally stems from how successful a club is , I guess that’s prob why West Ham don’t register for most

But at least you have recognition as a fanbase in certain areas

I don't really have a problem with fans disliking, despising and even "hating" other clubs. Part of the fabric of the game imho.
What I find difficult to understand is the ones that really can never see anything that their club does is wrong, bad, questionable, a bit rubbish, crass etc etc. The monomaniacal stuff just makes me scratch my head.
Luckily, as a West Ham supporter, I've never been under the faintest of illusions in this regard. I've only really encountered it from the various larger outfits. But all of them have had long periods in living memory of being a bit pish, so it still seems odd.

Totally agree esp with the faintest of illusions. City have a few generations of pish and attitudes have changed since we started “ buying trophies”.

Just in case anyone is interested the mighty gooners are leading 1-0 after a classis Odegaard left foot strike.
Really intimidating atmosphere and feisty game. Big test for Arsenal.

Been a good game and Newcastle were piling on the pressure but that’s a touch of fortune that’s going to be a massive help for Arsenal

Been a good number of tackles that have been a bit too over the top
