Hasn't Pep just signed an extension to his contract which also did something to affect Haaland's contract/release clause? I've got a vague memory of reading something about the two things being linked - maybe the £150 million release clause in Haaland's contract no longer being valid because Pep had signed an extension. Or I might have just made all of that up.

If you made it up - I like your imagination...I'm not sure but off to see if Goggle (or Twitter) knows the answer :-)

Apparently Bellingham has asked for assurances that Pep will be at City if he signs.

There was some talk about his contact linked to Peps extension, might have been release clause increase

His dad was vocal about him wanting to prove himself in every top league , but he may change those feelings. Certainly enjoying himself out there and the goals is just phenomenal

There was an interesting question on talkrubbish

If you had a choice - Henry or Haaland

Two totally different players but both lethal

Henry is the only player who didn't play for my team but I paid to watch live. Amazing athlete. The Federer of football. Love an athlete that seems to glide rather than strive - if that makes sense. Having said that - Erling is as exciting and awe-inspiring BUT he plays for my team...so he wins my vote (y)

Good analogy in regards Federer - I’m guessing it would be how the team is set up , under Klopp Henry would be perfect and whilst the guy was a disgrace in his actions also Suarez.

But if you have a team that’s going to play with a number 9 then it’s Haaland all day , even more than Shearer or Kane now

Henry was a better all-round footballer than Haaland is, that's for sure. He didn't quite get the goal numbers Haaland is getting, but he did wonderful things with the football. Probably still the best Premier League player there has been. (Could be rivalled by KDB on that - not to start another debate though!)

One of my fears is that Kane finally breaks Shearer's goal record, and then Haaland having stayed at City breaks it again two years later. But I have a feeling he'll move to a Madrid or Bayern or PSG at some point in his career.

If Haaland stays he will smash every single scoring record and it’s hard to see anyone getting close.
Henry of Haarland. Haarland please. He is a machine. If Henry is Federer then Harland is Nadal on clay, a beast.

We really need to make this analogy at the end of his career, too early now, but it is still fun to do.

What it does show is that prob bar two players the Prem has been blessed with some of the best players the game has seen over the last 30 years - prob just Messi and maybe Mbappe at the moment.

Zidane, Ronaldinho & Ronaldo never played in the Prem either?

It's Liverpool spanking us on Sunday you want to worry about.

We wont spank you... we're so up and down and your second half performance looked ok to me. Think it will be a close game and could go either way I think.

Hopefully we just edge it by the odd 4/5 ;)

I think one of the problems in comparing players esp those who played in the prem league is that neither Haaland or Henry’s time abroad tends to come into consideration. On top of that neither does international football. Yet Henry p,ayed in an amazing French team where as Haaland will always be in a similar situation to Gareth Bale at Wales.
All that said Haaland has scored 225 goals whilst playing for pro clubs, reserves and internationals 👍
