Maybe so, as I haven't seen him play for a while but, at least to me, always seemed to be a threat when he was running down his wing either with the ball or onto a pass. Maybe it's just because I prefer seeing movement, as opposed to the pretty dreary 'pass the ball around the triangle' play that seems to be so much of the game.
I think it’s the commentators half the time .
they build him up like he’s Messi .
He was ok in a very average game for me.

Hes having one of those spells where he’s trying but a lot of things are not working.
all footballers have them.

Also opposition coaches have probably studied him and worked out ways to counter the threat that his pace provides. To me, he sill looks great haring down the wing at pace, but if that's no longer effective......

I guess he would be ok to give the 2 points extra they got in our game when VAR failed to check the Saka offside
How strange to draw a comparison between a technical failure, where their was no clear evidence available at the time from any angle to support a decision one way or the other, versus one where all the evidence was available and not checked due to incompetence.

He’s right to feel aggrieved not that excuses his idiot quotes this week.

I did, actually 😉

But asking for point reinstatement, tongue in cheek or otherwise, is really taking it up a notch!

Lol, Ferguson was the original for "taking it up a notch" as far as refs were concerned wasnt he :)

Pretty sure Arteta isnt as dumb to expect the 2 points back, but seems its open season on anything he does or says. Life be quieter when were back in 5th or 6th again

Not sure how much complaining Arteta did last season either during the game or in the press conferences but it does seem to have increased

Now that is prob down to two things - deliberately deflecting any pressure away from the players as they go for the title or the pressure is getting to him

The on the pitch stuff does seem very reactive

Must be why Klopps far quieter this year too eh :)

Arteta has been like that on the touchline almost every minute of every game since he took over, its how he is. the real change is how media and other fans are reacting to him as weve had a good few mths!

Ella Toone got sent off for Man Utd Ladies at the weekend, for pushing an opponent into the ground as they lay on the floor. Dermot Gallagher discussed it on ref watch on Sky Sports, saying he agreed with the decision. Can't lift your arms and all that (which, of course, is not a red card offence in itself, but even ex referees seem to be happy to trivialise the laws to such an extent).

Anyway, the FA have now overturned the red card, so they must have been pretty convinced it did not meet the criteria for violent conduct (which, having seen it, I'd agree). So much for ex professional referees. Had Dermot Gallagher been on the panel, I'm guessing he'd have happily stuck with the red card.

Yet no ones barely commenting in the media or other fans this year, i wonder why that is ;)

Really 🤷‍♂️

Certainly seen plenty about him in regards how he acts in press conferences and let’s not forget his sideline ban for when he reacted towards the linesman - certainly was commented on by many

I suspect he was suitable embarrassed and ashamed of his actions, when he got sent off earlier in the season. On the same weekend Merseyside Youth League games were postponed amid ongoing issues with referee abuse.

Since then, I suspect he has kept a lower profile, and just mainly kept it to quietly whimpering in the dug out

Expect thats wishful thinking, lets see how he reacts if thy make it to a CL semi for eg and one goes against them

What was that 3 months ago? not been seen or heard of since has he?

Apart from last week when he told a reporter that he wouldn’t answer any questions from him

I guess if he says something stupid like asking for 2 points back then it will be highlighted

But any manager that acts like an idiot on the sidelines or to the press will be highlighted- right now Arteta is providing that stupidity

They aren’t picking on poor old Arteta because they are at the top - it’s because he is being a clown at times

Saw a tweet earlier which was something along the lines of:

"Mikel Arteta getting stick for being too angry and having a go at refs.
Graham Potter getting stick for being too calm and not having a go at refs.
Anyone know which is acceptable?"

Valid point I reckon?
