SA will be gutted to lose after only needing 30 from 30, I saw that WinViz had them at 95% at that point! Fantastic bowling from Bumrah and a stunning catch turned it on its head - he messes that up and it goes for 6 and I suspect SA would have won.

What a ridiculous statement. Southgate has brought in loads of young players.
Just in the current Euros squad there is a big group of players who were given "an early opportunity" for England when they could still have been playing in the U21s: Bellingham, Wharton, Guehi, Mainoo, Palmer, Saka, Gallagher, Foden, TAA.
We could look back at previous squads and find plenty of young players who were brought in for qualifiers and tournament squads. But hey, don't let the facts get in the way of your narrative

Long term I suspect Rew will come in to take the gloves and the hope will be that Smith can seize one of the 4/5/6 slots, though I still think Ollie Robinson has been hard done to at this stage!

What is does show is the disconnect between the counties and England - Bashir isn’t the main spinner at his county and has been sent out on loan
