Totally brainless by Tom Curran and good to see he’s got himself a four game ban for his efforts.
I'd love to know why they are appealing, from the clips I've seen they should be thankful he's not banned for the whole tournament.
I'm a bit late to this one but I think he is extremely fortunate not to be looking at a 6-12 month ban. 4 matches is nowhere near severe enough. Absolute idiot.

South Africa beat India inside 3 days today. It's arguable that they have the best pace attack in world cricket at the moment.
They won't play England, Australia or India again until 2026 at the earliest (could be later). After the 2nd test in this 2 test series next week they will play a 2 test series in New Zealand in Feb. It's almost certain that none of the players from this series will travel and they will either send a youth team of at best a "C" team cause all the best players want to play a T20 tournament instead.
Test cricket is great and the ICC (and big 3) are doing a wonderful job with the game.

Read a report yesterday about the same subject and it mentioned that Sri Lanka were thrown out of the ICC because of political interference in the Sri Lankan game - but also mentioned that the BCCI (Indian Cricket authority) is basically run by the Indian government. No such sanctions for them 🤷🏻‍♂️

The BCCI are a law unto themselves. They are the biggest fish in the pond and will happily throw their weight around to get their own way.

The ICC need their money so won’t bite the hand that feeds them.

I don't think I've seen a test match pitch offer that level of variance in the bounce on day five, let alone day one. For those that haven't seen the action, South Africa's bowlers gifted India 60-70 runs in half volleys, otherwise the game could conceiveably be over already!

Was there today. Silly.

What a bizzare match... if it was in the subcontinent, everyone would be talking about pitch and betting.

I heard about the SA inning but did not watch it. Was not aware it was on Sky.

Then i saw a bit of India batting.. Kohli and Rahul were batting with the commentators talking about stuffing out the saffies by batting all day and get to 100-150+ lead. I stopped watching with India at 144-4.
Was in the middle of something, and checked the score to see 155 all out!!!! 0-6, how the hell?

Would have been even more bizarre if SA lost half their side after tea.. luckily on 3 wickets gone with 4 days to play.

Yeah - not seen the highlights and can't comment on the pitch. As an SA fan the only parts of the day that were any good was when India lost all the wickets and in the 2nd innings when it looked like Markram had decided to play some shots. Does ruin my weekend plans.

Maybe they finish it in a couple of days and then play decider 1 days on Day 3,4 and 5

David Warner after his final Test;

“I hope I put a smile on everyone's face with the way I played and hopefully the young kids out there can follow in my footsteps.”

Hopefully the young kids will take their sporting lead from absolutely anybody other than Warner. Horrible man.

He was variously a bully, a cheat, a crybaby and a flat track bully. I find it hard to lament his move to the hit and giggle circus.
