I think they should give Donald another go, should all Captains get both a home and away match? Rose can be a VC in 2yrs and then take the job on in Ireland.

I was under the impression that it went to the PGA of America, or Ryder Cup Europe (although I recognise that they are part owned by the PGA Tour so it may well end up in their coffers - surprise surprise - but I have genuinely looked and can't find anything to suggest its funding pension funds directly.

It's got nothing to do with LIV Golf.

Punters are paying over the odds for tickets, food, drinks, accommodation, travel etc- contributing to a huge money spinner for the organising bodies. Why shouldn't the players - who are without question, the most important part of the event, get paid for participating?

Was Nick Faldo there out of the goodness of his heart?

Surprised Iona Stephen voiced out loud at the presentation 'we are all breathing a sigh of relief' when after a pause the US team did go over to shake hands with the Euros. Was she really concerned for an instant when none of them moved that things had gone truly sour between them and it wasnt going to go to protocol ?

I heard that but couldn't work out what she meant! It's rumoured the very rude caddy apologised to Rory and the games seemed to be played in a good sporting spirit as you'd hope.

That's right, $0 and that's even if their team wins.

That doesn't tell the whole story though, as players do receive compensation in other ways.

According to reports, the PGA gifts each member of Team America with $200,000 that they donate to the charity or charities of their choosing. Half of that amount goes to set organisations, including the Boys & Girls Club of America, the Drive, Chip, & Putt Championship, and the PGA Junior League.

As for Team Europe, it's become a tradition for their captain to give each player a gift for their participation. For example, back in 2018 when Europe won the tournament in France, captain Thomas Bjorn bought each of his team a personalised Rolex.

It remains to be seen if 2023 captain Luke Donald will carry on the tradition this time around.

Hey James, I'm sorry fella, I shouldn't have said what I said about you talking nonsense, clearly the information I'd seen after a fairly extensive Google search didn't concur with what was said on the TV broadcast this morning while I was out golfing - or wherever you sourced the info from.
Also, can I also extend an apology to anybody else who dislikes me for having a different opinion and questioning the common narrative. I really am, truly, truly sorry.
