Reading the thread on MAJ and making the Ryder Cup Team i had a peek at the latest points standings

European Points List - Top 4 make it

1. Victor Dubuisson
2. Jamie Donaldson
3. Thomas Bjorn
4. Henrik Stenson

World Points List - Top 5 not already qualified via the European points list

1. Sergio Garcia
2. Rory McIlroy
3. Justin Rose
4. Luke Donald
5. Martin Kaymer

So the question is - who could drop out by September

Who can make a late run

And Who will be the three wildcard picks

I think Bjorn could struggle - has a lot of points but his form has dropped and a couple of good rounds from Poulter puts him above both Stenson and Bjorn

Think Westwood is making a great run at the right time and if he doesnt make it will get a Captains pick

If those were the 9 then my three picks would be simple for two of them

Poulter
Westwood

Then either Gallacher or McDowell

Looking forward to Gleneagles, I hope we get some fresh faces in the team this year. But there is still a lot of golf to be played this year before the team is anywhere near complete!

I like to see the Ryder Cup team have more interesting characters in the team, not solid players who don't make for good viewing. So I wouldn't have Hanson in the team for instance, as I just don't find him that interesting to watch, same with Bjorn in a way

This, to me, is and always has been the downside of a qualification process that spans 12 months.
Between August last year and March this year, Stenson, Bjorn and Dubuisson were flying, scoring qualification points for fun.
All 3 have dropped off...
Form last Autumn doesn't always carry forward to this Autumn.
As always, there will be one or 2 names that miss out - my hope is that those who qualify are in form at the right time.
Take Young Vic.
3-4 good finishes early season and he's virtually certain to make the team
Since he went to play Stateside he hasn't done much......
