Random Irritations

My two didn't get their clothes washed unless they were in the laundry basket.

We’d be asked, “where is my xxx.” Replied, “probably still on your bedroom floor.” Then it was, “but I need it.” They got the message.

One of the boys had a habit of getting a pint glass of milk then leaving it half full on his windowsill. The smell usually gave it away. We’d go in there and find several glasses on penicillin in various stages of cultivation.

Tried travelling by train for the first time in about a decade today. Needed to get from Waterloo to Euston. Tube strike, of course, so attempted taking a bus (no. 68)

First 68 arrives. "Only going as far as Aldwych, another will be along soon".
Few minutes later another 68 arrives with Euston on the destination board. Get on. At Aldwych, driver announces he stops here, everyone off.
Wait for the next one. Another 68 approaches, with Euston displayed. 100 yards before it arrives, destination changes to Aldwych. 😮‍💨
So decide to walk (in the rain), along the 68 route. At no time did a 68 bus go past.

You'd think that when there's a tube strike on, TFL would try their best to run a usable bus service. This is why people don't use public transport.

It appears that it’s the darkest moment in the US , yet the daily or weekly shootings in schools go by with very little comments from them

He was a character that caused issues on one side and lorded on the other - someone who was trying to sensor what was taught in US History ( white washing they called it ) and of course the statement “guns deaths are unfortunate but worth it to keep the second amendment”

Horrific for his family to be there and see it

But they need to sort out their gun laws

Sadly i think its going to get a lot darker. Political divide and violence is getting worse in the US...

I wasn't going to London, but to get from Devon to Hertfordshire by train, you have to pass through the hell that it is.

My then girlfriend lived in Welwyn and I lived in Woking , we used to see each other alternate weekends at either town for 3 years.

Getting the last train from Welwyn to get the paper train to Woking I walked Kings Cross to Waterloo many times in my life because back then there were no tube trains at that time of day.

We always try to walk in London, much better views, cheaper and usually quicker. Amazes me how many people seem to only go one or two stops.

I used to like using the busses instead of the tube when visiting for the same reason.

I'll always remember going from The Tate to Greenwich I had a lovely chat with this lady who said she had used the same bus for 20 years and I was the first person to talk to her in all that time.
