Random Irritations

What a farce this is turning into.

I messaged the seller saying they had sent the wrong item. They asked for photos, which I sent. They then asked for more photos, no idea why, sent them.

Then they asked if I had received a wooden pole cover!

I told them no, and would they please either send me the correct item, or issue a refund.

They responded offering me a partial refund of £3 (head cover was £9) and I could keep the shin pads! I'm convinced they are either playing for time, hoping I'll give up, or are just taking the proverbial ...

Put in a claim via eBay. He’s just taking the pee.

The latest merry-go-round of renegotiating my Sky subscription. In the end I got it reduced by £40 per month fixed for 24 months.
I had to work really hard to get that which is ridiculous for a long-standing customer. I don't want to change from Sky particularly as my missus is so used to their interface and would struggle with the change.

I imagine the poor lady on the chat was glad to see me go.

I just had 2 hours on the online chat to keep my Sky Subs the same, add Netflix and fix for two years.

I am paying £52 and the renewal email was more than doubling it.

Today's job is to bash BT for the price they are charging. Especially as Sky want to take over the Broadband.

I'm also cancelling TNT sports as they only seem to have telhe (non) Champions League, and to be honest, it's now too dull to bother with.

latest instalment - I wrote back again asking for the correct item or a full refund. They responded offering a 50% refund if I keep the bloody shin pads!

I have initiated a return on ebay and told them (again) to issue a full refund. It's only £9 ffs, what a palaver.

Think you all need to grow a pair & ask them to start & put their clothes in the washing basket, rather than moaning about it on here 😂

Imo of course 😉

My Mrs has recently received Grant of Probate for her mother and as a result DWP are looking to my mrs (as executor of the estate) to pay back a good few hundred £s of incorrectly paid state pension. What's irritating about that you might ask?

Well - a little bit of research to find out how long we have to pay the DWP that overpayment, and I discover that the repayment is voluntary...voluntary! My Mrs now has a choice and a decision to make..and though I am confident that we will pay the DWP out of the estate (I haven't yet broken the news to her), I suspect some might choose to just ignore the request...even if the estate can afford to pay...and it is that which is most irritating.
Reminds me of when my wife died

I got a letter to tell me her Benefits were over paid as they were paid in advance.

I duly repaid them.

Around a year later they told me they had got the calculation wrong and another £400 was due to be repaid. After a couple of phone calls it was written off by them.

Having cancelled mine last week I got 'the phone call' today half an hour later and I am still not a customer.

26 years with them and they really do not reward customer loyalty.

I was offered nowhere near the price that a new customer gets. Said before by someone else it's 2025 and they still want to charge for HD.

Absolute con it should be standard nowadays not added cost.

Does anyone else have a wife who appears to struggle to lift the top of the washing basket to put clothes inside it ? Think it must be really heavy
Nope, but there are 2 teenage girls in the house who leave clothes everywhere and then complain when you take them away.

“I was going to wear that!!”

“Well then why has it been in a crumpled heap for 3 days?”

My favorite with my 2 is I walk past the room tell them to tidy it!

Hour later have you tidied your room ! “yea dad it’s all done”

Check room when info back upstairs and nothings change except they’ve hidden the crap at the end of the bed thinking I won’t see it despite the fact it’s visible from the door!

They literally think we were never young and that they’re cleverer than us and that we have no idea how to outthink them 🤣

I cancelled sky last year after 20+ years with them.
Don’t miss it at all.
Absolute rip off.

A few years ago I had the Mrs and 3 teenage daughters at home.
We had a family party and they all declared they had nothing to wear.
So when they went shopping I went through their wardrobes and found over 50 (can’t remember the exact number) items of clothing that still had the tags on!!!!
