Random Irritations

A good friend of mine has taken over the local pub and opened the doors earlier in the week. Last night was the first real “big” night with a Halloween fancy dress bash. We were expecting it to be busy but it was the busiest I’ve ever seen the place, 3 deep at the bar, 10-20 minute wait to get served if you were lucky, my pal and the bar staff were absolutely off their feet 100% of the time. We left early as it was just so busy, shame as it was really good craic. Hopefully in the future the pub finds the right balance of being busy without feeling crammed 👍

Had to take my mum to a hospital appointment in Manchester today. Jeez, the traffic is just horrible. Not sure how I didn't get a scratch or bump. I couldn't handle driving here all the time 😱

Someone made a mistake. An error.
Very likely a career stopper.

I worked in a small prison of 300 to 350 inmates at any given time.
There would often be a handful that were due for deportation at end of sentence. Larger prisons might have more for deportation.
It was the duty of the prison to give regular notifications as to when and how many were due for transfer to deportation centres.
This transport to deportation centres is not the prison service's responsibility.
Over the years I was working, there were several reports from other prisons of such prisoners being released onto the streets as there were no staff or vehicles available due to cuts and underfunding, even though regular notifications were given in the days before.
The prison could no longer hold them as they had completed their sentence and unlawful imprisonment is a crime. The police would not arrest them as they were no longer wanted for crimes.
This was clearly a repeated failure of government funding and organisation.

Yesterday someone made an error. A very bad one. No government error, I believe.
More likely to get a promotion out of harms way.

The young lady who, at 0645 this morning, flashed me to get out of L3 of the M4, and then flew into L4 in a fit of rage, gesticulating wildly that I needed to move over - she obviously couldn’t see the lorry in L2 that I was alongside, which was overtaking a lorry in L1…. I laughed at her as it was so ridiculous, that turned to an irritation, (ok, maybe more than an irritation) when she cut up the car in from as they indicated to pull back in, and then break tested them!

I got slightly more irritated as she sarcastically clapped as we all pulled into L1 as we finished passing each other, she then drove up behind another vehicle and just sat behind them in L2 until I left the motorway.

Utterly bizarre
Not really, the clue is in the first three words of your post. The ladies are driving faster and faster year on year and think they have total right of way EVERYWHERE. Well some of them.

A pint can cost less than 2 Euros in this European capital city. Cheaper than Prague. I've not been to this country. Looks nice though.

Europe is a great place over all. Maybe we should think about linking our economy to theirs in some way?

I'm in agreement for once on this. Then we can all up sticks and move there, leaving mess that is the UK to the clowns.

Didn't she tell people to set fire to hotels. Don't call her sentence OTT.
As unpleasant as Connolly’s tweet was, she should not have been imprisoned. It would suggest the legal threshold for incitement in Britain has become too low.

But when you compare it to the case of Ricky Jones, who had the previous week been acquitted after telling a crowd in East London, that many of the anti-immigration protesters were “disgusting Nazi fascists” and “We need to cut their throats and get rid of them” you can really understand why there has been accusations of two tier justice.

No, she said 'set fire to the hotels for all I care' which isn't inciting people to do that. It's merely expressing an ambivalence. Yes it's a poor comment but three years in jail was a disgrace with clear political influence exerted.

Another serious knife attack, this time on a train in Huntingdon. Strong rumours of it being a terror attack.

Been a pretty bleak week with the triple stabbing in Uxbridge

To put the quote in context

Mass deportation now, set fire to all f*****g hotels full of the bastards for all I care…If that makes me racist, so be it.

It was certainly not ambivalence.

Yes there is a massive backlog in the courts but she was dealt with almost instantly.

As if there was political interference in the justice system!
