Random Irritations

To put the quote in context

Mass deportation now, set fire to all f*****g hotels full of the bastards for all I care…If that makes me racist, so be it.

It was certainly not ambivalence.

She was sent down for the comments about burning the hotels, which were certainly ambivalent. The first part was her personal opinion and certainly not a crime unless in North Korea.

Hardly calling for the slitting of throats on live TV was it?

If she didn't think she was committing a crime she shouldn't have pled guilty then

Yes there is a massive backlog in the courts but she was dealt with almost instantly.

As if there was political interference in the justice system!
Same as the rioters outside the hotels for immigrants.
Not saying I agree with them, but it was crazy how fast the people were charged & sentenced.
It was a matter of weeks.
Shame they can’t deal with other well known activities as quick.

Because if they hadn't things could have escalated out of control pretty quickly. It was done as a deterrent

I’m just pointing out
A) The full quote is beyond poor
B) You don’t know what ambivalent means

Have a nice evening 😀

A) I agree it was poor and I've said that many times. But three years in jail poor? Which is what you're actually arguing for? No chance. I personally think Lucy Connolly is a thick chav that just got a bit upset and had a rant.

B) I do actually. You probably had to look it up ;)

And this I really do believe in, part of the punishment has to be the deterrent. Unfortunately with a lot of the law breakers, they do it and continue to do it because the punishment makes it worthwhile. And I don’t just mean in this instance.
Around our way a guy stole £34,000 from a charity cafe that had supported him since he was a teenager. He was able to return only £3,000. He got a 12 month suspended sentence. Shocking.

Edit to say, Google rumbles cafe robbery. The sad thing is that group of cafes is run by the disabled and folk with learning difficulties.

Driving home from golf yesterday, 4 “hot hatches” go flying by me doing at least 90 mph and ridiculously close to each other. I watch as they undertake then overtake a number of cars in front before cutting across from the outside lane to a slip road very late causing other cars to slam on their brakes.

It was horrible to watch, how none of them didn’t cause an accident I’ll never know.

The “MG” I have been given as a courtesy car is a horrible thing.
It’s the large HS version and not unattractive but driving it is awful.
Also the “driving aids” make me want to stick my foot through the touchscreen…It gives a binging warning and text flashes up on the dash if you do not keep your eyes fully on the road (not easy when every control is on the center screen) or if you stray 2 miles above the speed limit (it also misses a lot of speed signs so constantly thinks you are speeding) or if you stray over the white line, or if it thinks you are going to hit the car in front. All can be disabled by scrolling through the touchscreen but as soon as you turn the car off they all reset!
And the dash is like this…

Utterly soulless and the complete opposite of what an MG should be.

When I bought my Peugeot the other choice within my price bracket was an MG, one shortest test drive with the MG and it was an easy choice. The handling was so poor in comparison on our local country lanes.

Incompetent and moronic motorway drivers.
Know it's a regular on here. Was in the M25 / M40 vicinity today. Twice I followed a vehicle joining the motorway, they were at well below the flow speed and they immediately moved into the 2nd lane. There was no-one to overtake and if there was they were 10 to 15 mph slower anyhow. Just seemed desperate to not be in lane one. Bizarre.
Thankfully was able to sneak past and glance at the mirror to see the chaos building.

I think a lot of the time this is due to drivers who lack confidence or motorway experience (which can comprise any demographic based on my observation.....young, old, male & female).
They sit in the middle lane as it avoids them having to negotiate what, for them, might be a scary manoeuvre of overtaking and switching lanes.

I do a lot of motorway driving and notice this a lot.
The amount of people sitting in the middle lane driving at around 55mph astonishes me.
They then have people going passed them on both the inside and outside which seems to make them more nervous.
