Met anyone famous?

I was on two BBC quiz shows quite a few years back.
Met Bob Monkhouse....really nice guy.
Noel Edmonds....what a tosser.

Sold a car to Jonathon Ross once, had to drive it up to London and deliver it to his offices at Channel X.
Invited me in and made me a cup of coffee himself. Had a nice long chat with him and had a couple of photos taken handing the keys over.

Also sold a car to Jim Moir (Vic Reeves). He bought a Mazda MX5 and I really didn't recognise him when he came in the showroom depsite being a big fan of Vic Reeves big night out. He looked totally (and I mean totally) different in real life.

Also sold two cars over a period of 3 months to Peter Sissons. Really nice guy.
And when I worked in Eastbourne a guy walked into the showroom, really scruffy looking git. He bought a top of the range Mondeo Diesel demonstrator. When we were filling out the order form I asked him his name and when he said his surname was "Conway" I jokingly asked "Not Russ is it?".
It was
:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

He has lived locally for some years and recently sold his house to Paul O Grady

We saw Vic Reeves around town a bit, one day with his family when it was bitterly cold and his young son didn't have a coat of any sort on and I had to restrain HID from telling him off as the kid was clearly frozen. He also turns up at some of the gigs we go to locally and he is the big "I AM" quite obnoxious in most peoples view!

Paul O Grady, on the other hand, is a really nice guy so I understand

Most of the famous people I know are from the world of the NFL. But there was one show I was doing on Sky when we started making fun of the 49ers losing and their British fan, Martin Johnson. Next thing, an e-mail comes in to the studio with the comment of "Oi Stewart, I know where you live".

So having wound up the biggest toughest bloke in British sport, I go along to the first NFL regular season game at Wembley, am walking through the car park and hear a voice "I still haven't forgiven you!" - the very same England rugby manager.

Next time I'll pick on someone my own size but we've become good friends off it.

Met Kevin Peterson, the cricketer, and his wife(from girls aloud or something), pair of idiots. Wearing matching purple velour trackies. Nice.

As an NFL (and Rugger) fan, that's an awesome story! :D

Johno is under-rated as a manager IMO. Had a rough start but he's built the squad the way he wanted to and now is starting to reap the rewards. I will not forgive him if he doesn't include Charlie Sharples in the World Cup squad though

Sounds like you have an awesome job, Paul!

I do a weekly spot on a Florida radio station in which I cover all British sports and followed Jon Bon Jovi on air once as he had been talking about his ownership of a Arena league team in Philly. The host made a comment about going from Philadelphia to London and Jon hung on for a bit to talk British music. I was just in awe of that - really top bloke and brought up that I saw him play live at the culmination of Super Bowl XXXVII in San Diego.

Once did a live interview with Ian Botham at the Oval at the British Baseball final in 1989. I was bricking it but Both just told me he'd cover any problems in return for a beer. Which I happily bought him. Man is a legend.

Had lunch with Dennis Compton. Really nice bloke with plenty of tales. Cricket for England, football for Arsenal, and played golf off 6. A natural sportsman if ever there was one.

When I was a wee boy, I used to travel to school in London by train. On the return home, I would often sit in the same section as John Laurie (Private Frasier in Dads Army). He was always pleasant and chatty.

Two years ago I was walking through the Mall of America in Minneapolis when I literally bumped in to Patrick Viera. As a big gunners fan, I haven't washed the hand that shook his since.

Its 40 yeras since I was first a ball boy at Wimbledon. saw many of the greats and have many of their signatures including the lovely Evonne Goolagong, who i got twice, and when I went and got the second one she said ''haven't you got my signature already :o :o :o
Also Billy Jean King came into our changing room with the biggest bag of sweets you have ever seen, done it the following year as well.
Also remember Fred Stolle who was runners up in the singles at Wimbledon 3 years running in the mid 60's coming out of one of the bars with two absolute stunning women each holding his arms, Fred must have been in his mid to late 30's then and the joke was, if you added together the two girls ages that they would have not have been as old as Fred. :D :D
Was also in the ball boys line up when Newcombe beat Stan Smith (1971) and the Duke of Kent spoke to me and the ball boy next door.

Met Bob from Vic and Bob, Jimmy White (both lovely fellas), Jimmy Nail (straight up wierdo), Blur (utter idiots), Various student bands.

But my claim to fame is my dinner lady at school is Rosemary Fords mum so she used to bring Robert Lindsay down for Christmas.

Every pub in the village where I lived (all 3 of them) greeted him with cries of Wolfie,Wolfie,Wolfie! (he was not impressed).

That McCaskill weather bloke used to live in the next village (he likes a drink or two!).

Oh and David Essex owns a country estate about 2 miles away according to some folk.

Met Eamon Holmes quite a few times. His dads brother married my dads sister, so we both share an uncle and aunt but are not ourselves related. He's a decent bloke. Another uncle of mine was very friendly with Derek Dougan so I met him a few times too, not so keen on him but don't want to speak ill of the dead so I'll leave it at that. Got Kevin Keegans autograph in Malaga airport when I was a kid, and my best man lives next door to Shane Magowan of Pogues fame. According to my friend although he is always drunk he's quite inoffensive, his Mrs on the other hand is supposed to be a right nut job.

Just been informed i have to work sat night as we have a private party in... Calum Best & Georga or Georgia Sampa or whatever her name is ,, not impressed as i didnt wana work sat night .. society captains sat (off scratch so havent a chance ) club comp sun when my 9.4 could become 9.5 unless i get my act together ..not a happy chappy :(

Im in the forces and have met The Queen and Prince Harry, on separate occasions. and prince william served on the same ship as me, so i guess you could say i used to live with him, haha.
Met Becks out in LA, in the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel,my girlfriend was very embarrassing after a few drinks, i nipped off to the loo, next i see she is chatting to some bloke, i kept quiet after i saw who it was. we also me Ed Westwick (chuck bass from a girly tv show called gossip girl).
bumped into ronnie wood in the camping store in Bath.

Met Rod Stewart in the pub (of course) when down at Wembley for the 'fitba in 1981 good guy and he did buy a round. :D

Also met (and got bought a coffee by) Jack Nicklaus when we were sheltering from the rain while following him and Greg Norman in a practice round for the 1985 Open.
