Ping G430 v Titliest TSR2

I’ve got the TSR2. I love it. Feels nice and solid. I’ve had TM drivers for the last few years. Som2 Max was the best for me then upgraded to a Stealth 2 which wasn’t good for me. I took a put with this and it’s been great and looking forward to summer with it. My mate has the G430 and it’s really straightened him up and hits it well. The head feels bigger more like swinging a shovel to me, not sure why. A definite vote for the Titleist here.

I’ve stuck religiously with Titleist for years as just found them that bit better than the rest but know a couple guys who love that G430.

Definitely get more hits of TSR2, more of a feel will help make your mind up

Really depends on you tbh.

I was fit for the tsr3 last year and it came down between the ping g430 and the tsr3 and we went for the tsr3 as it was 5 yards longer and tighter dispersion but that's different for everyone.

Do love the sound and feel tho

Very dependent on strike I imagine.
when I’ve tested drivers. The low spin versions have been a few hundred rpm lower, I put far too much spin on a driver though.
I quite fancy giving one a go. Had my M4 for coming up 7 years.
One of my usual group plays one and likes it even though he’s not a great driver, but no point in trying his with its x-flex scaffolding bar of a shaft.

Might see if I can find a decent deal on one.

Blimey I remember buying a M2 head off you lol that was really that long ago lol 🤣

The tsr3 is more adjustable than the tsr2

This is a tsr 2. Note it's just like it is with adjustable hosel

The tsr 3 has a weight on the bottom that can be set to more draw / fade bias plus is more low spin

Quick add here. I've looked at my fitting notes. The tsr3 I wasn't going to try I wanted the ping but the numbers just won't. Lst ping btw

I had a speedzone set for low spin and the key take away was the tsr3 spin rate was 1000 less which helped it's direction

A couple of years ago one of mates gave me his TSR2 driver head as a farewell present when he moved North.
I fitted the same shaft as I was playing the TM M4. I sold the TSR2 and kept the M4

If you get to try them both buy the one that suits you best.

I owned the G430 and own a TSR2. The G430 was an excellent club, for a start it didn't sound like a tin can tied to a garden cane, it was very consistent and almost long enough. The TSR2 is just as forgiving, probably a tad longer and as has been said early just feels and sounds fabulous, it feels so solid.

The TSR2 is a keeper.

I bought a tsr3 off GC4C about 3 weeks ago now for £195 delivered. No headcover but the club is unmarked.

So far I’m really liking it, it seems to be slightly better in dispersion and a few yards longer than my old Epic Flash. I’m now only 15 yards behind the lads I play with rather than 20. 😂

I did get my longest ever carry of 269 yards on Trackman last week with it when doing a speed training session.

Nah, you need to upgrade to a GT. hear they are quite a bit better than the tsr drivers.

I have a g430 lst. Wanted to like the tsr at my fitting but didn’t get on with it.

Mate of mine went from tsr2 to Qi10, now in a g440lst and loves it.

Was speaking to the pro at our club this week (also does our custom fittings).
Said when he tested them he could not get more than a yard extra from the GT Vs the TSR. Said they weren't worth the upgrade in his opinion.

Your pro is a useless sales person. 🤣

But then, a pro shouldn’t get much extra as they should be hitting it out the middle.
