My G430 LST driver head was accidentally destroyed at my local course and the club pro very kindly offered me a NEW Qi35 (core/standard model) to replace it.

The thought that putting the heavier weight forward would give similar setup to an LS head but the numbers I’m getting are nowhere near my usual…. however, the cellophane is still on the head!

I get that removing it will see a difference, but it’s about 20-30y down. Will it make that much difference?

Or am I better off selling the head while it’s mint and just picking up a 2nd hand G430 LST head?

Thanks in advance

Why did you not get a ping to replace the ping?

But, the cellophane will make little difference.

Intrigued as to what destroyed your old head???

The golf club switched to Adidas/TaylorMade as their main contract and it was generous to offer the Qi35…

I am thinking the same… the cellophane can’t make that much difference surely.

It was smashed against a light as the positioning setup was wrong in a tight indoor sim.

Getting a qi head is not generous if it is no use to you.
If their sim setup caused the damage they should make it right.

I can't see a world in which I wouldn't sell it, buy the Ping that I know works, and pocket the difference, in favour of keeping a driver I'm not getting anything out of.

I think it was a graceful solution so have no issues on that. I just need to decide wether or not to sell it or not.

Can you not get a fitting with the pro using a demo head? Could well be that a tweak to the weights and set up could rediscover the missing yards.

I have a theory that there is barely any performance difference in the heads produced by the main OEMs. The difference is just feel and looks.

Elite Performance have quite a few in depth fitting videos on YouTube. One of the takeaways for me and pointed out by them is how little impact shafts have on spin, it is all about the head. Performance differences shown between various heads is really vast. There is one a on an assistant female Pro call Ed Meg who swings at just over 90mph which highlights this dramatically.
