As the title says, have you met anyone famous? And for 10 bonus points, do you know anyone famous?

Just laughed remembering a certain former forum member who let us all know he was personally acquainted with Retief Goosen!!! :D

He lives about 1 1/2 miles from me. See him regularly going in or coming out of the bookies!
A right old character with an interesting and varied past. Was a footballing icon at HTFC in the early 70's.
Top bloke. ;)

Used to serve Norman whiteside his beer after he quit playing.
Worked with Rorys dad and his coach is our club pro/ head coach
Freddie from Rod Jane and Freddie is my wife's uncle,
Gary player briefly at an Irish seniors

Greatest claim to fame is having met and had a pint with most of the GM team. :D

Worthington came close to signing for Liverpool in 1972 only to fail the medical due to high blood pressure. Bill Shankly gave him a second chance, though, and told him to go on holiday, relax and come back a fortnight later refreshed. Worthington did as he was told, only in his case 'relaxing' involved going to Majorca and spending the two weeks clubbing with a Belgian girl he met on his travels. By the time he returned his blood pressure was even higher than before and the deal was scrapped.

quote from his book called " ONE HUMP OR TWO" :D

HRH the Princess Royal - lovely woman,
Paddy Pantsdown MP,
Nicholas Soames MP (a fat lying git)

Bumped into Jimmy Saville one Sunday morning in a filling station in Kinlochleven (back end of nowhere)

I've been on favourable terms with Jack Daniels and Ron Bacardi in my time.

I have met a lot of famous people (he says, modestly).
None of them are on my Christmas card list.

Played with a new member at the club two weeks ago. Said he used to play hockey a bit. Afterwards found out he played over 140 times for GB & I, including two Olympics in 1996 and 2000, and holds the scoring record with Sean Kerley. Hit the golf ball miles, and had played off 3, but i soon brought him down to my level.

When i was about 17, I helped a neighbour out who was a top society photographer. Got quite a shock at the first wedding I went to, when the quests include, Prince Philip, Princess Margaret and the Queen Mum. No one told me about Royal protocol, and only speaking when you were spoken to, so when the Queen Mum was waiting to be photographed, I asked her if she was having a good time. :o :o

Used to drink with Howard Jones - 80's techno-popper.
Seen Saville loads of times as he spent a lot of time helping to get the Spinal Unit at Stoke Mandeville going.
Met and played with David Howell.
And of course I've still got Di Dougherty's number.....

Any chance in sharing it with the rest of the class???? :D
My biggest claim to fame was whenever I met Santa in a shopping centre a few years ago!!! :o :o :p

A few over the years yes. Don't know any of them personally...Only person I could say that about would be the guy who is/was "Spartan" in the new (shoite) version of Gladiators that was shown a few years back. Mate of mine from school, have known him for years.

George and alex Best moved in next door to me a few years back, was good crack, he was over in the garden when we were playing football. wouldnt have called him a friend but he was a fine guy and alex was spot on too.

at the minute my uncle is a lucky man - greeting a certain fella named Rory back to N.ireland.
