It won't.
The main problems with LIV are no proper relegation/qualification, no cuts, and the team format undermines individual ranking. The 54 hole thing is not a deal breaker, the other things are, and LIV can't change them because their team branding and franchise business model depends on those other elements. They know that when they started but thought they could bluster their way through them.

No need to guess. There were two main reasons for declining LIV's application, and neither were guideline related; owgr board members explicitly stated the guidelines could be worked around.

McIlroy, Fleetwood, Harmon, Henley, Matsuyama, Fitzpatrick, Spieth, Aberg, Scott, Day, Burns, Homa, Hojgaard, Morikawa, Kim, Young, An, Fowler, English, Pavon.
Even for a 'weaker' PGAT week - much maligned by LIVitians - the above alone outweigh the full muster of the truly relevant and competitive LIV players. Not to be confused with recognisable or even great names of the past - but McDowell, Bubba, Phil, Kaymer etc. are simply no benchmark for anyone claiming to be a relevant golfer of top rank today. Not to mention novelty act filler like Anthony Kim.
The names at the top can at first sight seem lost or diluted - and that a LIV field is instead a concentration of top golfers. But that is an illusion. Those 20, plus a hundred potential Bhatias, make the field stronger, not weaker. And not leaving wins exclusively to the handful of top rankers.

Watching a US sports channel CBS discussing chance of success for several players at Masters. Funny bit was the chat around Rahm because they couldn't comment how he's playing recently without saying they watch LIV so they just said 'looking at his round scores' 
Instead they talked up Bhatia's chances
(I wonder if the US pundits etc have a 2nd 'burner' smartphone they use just to watch liv golf on so their bosses don't find out)

I've seen a few clips over on X - it's actually quite entertaining seeing them trying to underpin the credibility of the PGAT while still trying to talk down LIV - even though they're discussing an event that is supposed to be relatively neutral and relatively independent from the tours.

It is invitation by name though only. Every single player knew on Thursday before teeing it up in Texas that if they won but had not already recieved an "invitation" that they would be playing at Augusta this week.

To be fair, there are fewer and fewer talking heads persisting with this drivel. Most have learned from last year.
I even heard someone saying that LIV is more competitive and players face more pressure than the PGA Tour because they have to be on it for all 54-holes due to the team element, whereas on the PGA Tour, it can often be like playing meaningless practice rounds when out of contention. I don't know if they'll be allowed on again!

You’d have to hope than any fair minded golf fan can see through the lazy headlines and comments.
Rahm saying he wouldn’t mind playing 72 holes on LIV, and it being repeatedly reported that he wanted it to go to 72 holes, and that he’s full of regret is just disrespectful to the guy.
We could do a thread on golf media tbh, some shocking imbalance from a lot of agencies at the moment.

Has anyone actually started to care about any team? If they drop it, would someone notice it (negatively) ?
Some minor players would get lower pay days, which are still quite huge anyway. But for fans of the sport?
