LIV Golf

Decent podcast from these guys who have just started out.

Not too much given away but I’d imagine Foltz has a little insight into the future of the series, reading between the lines I’d say more teams and a bigger player pool are very much on the agenda.

Without stating the obvious they have room for another team/4 players and still have a shotgun start.

They could add more and double up on some Par 5 tees or on holes after a par 5

But for now the framework agreement forbids approaching any players..

No PGA Tour, LIV Golf or PIF officials attending Wednesday’s Senate hearing

"According to Blumenthal’s office, the PIF’s U.S. public holdings have increased from approximately $2.5 billion in 2018 to over $35 billion, including at least $2 billion invested in LIV Golf, according to court filings."

Cannot see LIV folding in the near future with that kind of investment.

I have to say unconfirmed but from reputable sources that are saying LIV could travel to 9 different countries in 2024:

- Australia
- Hong Kpng
- Mexico
- Saudi Arabia
- Singapore
- South Korea
- Spain
- UK
- USA

If they have 14 events again I would expect 2 in Australia and 5 in the USA.

Be interesting to see where the UK event goes, if there is one. I believe Centurion only had it for this year and last - I'd imagine the guys at LIV HQ would love to see it at Turnberry, as a statement to the R&A, but the Trump organisation clearly still feel that the course should be on The Open rota, so might be reluctant to burn any remaining bridges they have in that regard.
Or, will they want to keep it close to the south of England where the crowds were really strong this year?

I suspect the R&A wouldn’t care if Turnberry hosted a LIV event because they won’t be hosting any Open for any foreseeable future

I’m guessing there must be a LIV event coming up?
As the anti LIV brigade are all getting their knickers in twist on Twitter 😬😂
Surely not - who would even know a LIV event it on (if there really is one, and this isnt just a joke) ? If ever a sporting venture disappeared without trace, LIV is it. In truth, it was evident all along - it only made any media impact in its contest with the PGAT for players over a year ago. Actual golf was never really covered. Now that that issue is closed and they are just stuck with a group of effectively early-retireds, LIV has no profile whatsoever.

Any update on the app?

Well done LIV for hosting a massively subsidised tour that cares less about young talent but more about elderly has-beens who only care about their greedy bank balance.

Let's face it, LIV has been a complete failure and is only supported by a huge fund and greedy pension seekers.. the golf is unwatched, unwelcome and to be honest, totally boring. No real golf fan really watches it.
If it is unwatched and totally boring why do you bother to comment on it ?

Ive been more interested in watching the players fighting to keep their Liv tour card than the top of the leaderboard this time

Ripper GC are one of the better performing teams but Jed Morgan is currently the player on the bubble one spot below the line.
If he goes then Ripper need a new team member.
Do they keep it a full Aussie team, you would have thought so - If so who do they draft in ??

Obviously a lot of this depends on the result of the framework agreement becoming a definitive agreement.
If players are allowed to play events on both tours then teams could draft in pinch hitters as their 4th player , Ripper could for example draft in Adam Scott or Jason Day for certain events

If an agreement isnt found then Liv will ramp up their $$$$ offers to try and tempt more players over

Been very quiet on "how the talks are going" rumours for weeks now.

Siwan Kim and Chase Koepka already look like they are gone and off to the Asian Tour next year.

Andy Ogltree has earned his Liv card for next year through winning the Asian Tour Order Of Merit.
Also looks like Laurie Canter could have earned a spot next year through his sub appearances for Sam Horsfield, Laurie will be looking for a team to pick him up for 2024.

Another win for Bryson? He's in great form since he found that Krank driver that works for him. I'm quite glad he's not in the US RC team now, could have seen him being quite dangerous in the four-balls.
A win on the Asian tour ?

With the rough at the course and BDC ability to miss the fairway I’m not sure he would have made much difference

Bryson seems to be over his injuries/surgery and the loss of his father which hit him hard.

He has been playing great for quite some time now and has just reigned everything in a little.
Still hits it very long but now extremely straight which is a recipe for success on any course.
