Who dragged up the Ryder Cup discussion earlier today? It wasn't any of your imaginary LIV bots that you seem obsessed with.

To answer the sensible part of your question, I'm not even sure Brooks will be a good fit at this years Ryder Cup - he'll be the only one there, and will therefore generate all the discussion around LIV players being involved in the event. It would have been better to not have him there at all, or, partner him up with Bryson on day 1 and see what they have actually got - but has the the Captain of the US team hasn't got the gumption to figure out if any other LIV players are worthy of a pick, that won't happen.
Did I say LiV bots? I’m just using the same sources you frequently quote. To say another person is obsessed with Twitter is comedy coming from you.

None of the LiV players are worthy of a pick. To suggest as someone has that DJ, Bryson and Reed are is laughable.

DJ has cleared checked out. Reed, not a clue. And Bryson has been awful apart from a couple of good LiV showings. Which is hardly stout competition. How has Brooks got on recently?

The US has more than enough depth not to need to pick any of the LiV players.

It’s funny how even Bland has got involved talking about the RC. He’s had no more chance of playing in one than you or I. Yet suddenly he’s talking we this we that about the European team. Why?

“The only one” - once the Ryder Cup has started it’s irrelevant what tour they are on

The only people I suspect that will make it about LIV will be those LIV bots.

Most golf fans won’t care less and will just look forward to seeing great golf

So why drag it up then Phil ? 🤷‍♂️

Let's move onto something else - the Asian Tour getting more OWGR points than the DPWT this weekend perhaps? Both way behind the Korn Ferry rating though, admittedly.

Trying to stir some LIV headlines and links. Nobody is following LIVs actually golf. Talking about either other tournaments, or, why they arent in them, is their only way to remind people they still exist at all.

Drag up the Ryder Cup..

You seemingly want to stir up some discussion about it, and the team selection of Zac Johnson (you linked a tweet a few hours ago, right?), then have proceeded to tell us that it's the LIV fans that will be talking up the LIV players absence from the event.

Do you want to take about it, or not?

I'll go and discuss the OWGR points for the tours in the Pro golf thread Phil, where (along with Ryder Cup discussion) it will be more appropriate..

The article is relevant to LIV golf is it not ?

And yes “when the event starts” the LIV fans will be talking about LIV golfers etc

Surely you can understand discussions before an event and discussions during an event

Qualifying and selection is a discussion before the event of which that article is part of the discussion

Interesting interview with Brandel Chamblee on the Drop Zone podcast, the morality of anyone supporting LIV and Saudi's involvement in golf. He makes a reasonable case for the fact that one cannot really support it and retain any moral credibility.
He also contends 98% of LIV support comes from bots and those with a financial vested interest. Given the rejection of LIV by the average sports fan, its plausible.

The only interesting thing about Chamblee is how much vitirolic bile he can spout to get attention. No surprise that your offering support of his views Backsticks, the guy is absolutely deluded.

Paul McGinley seems to be softening his stance

Quote from him on Sky Sports

“I think one of the real benefits and what we have seen with LIV is that it’s become more global, than US-centric, which is what the game was heading towards with the PGA Tour. So, that’s a positive with what Saudi and PIF and LIV have done in bringing the game a lot more global.”

A year ago it was pretty much inconceivable that a Liv Golfer would play in the 2023 Ryder Cup.

LIV may have contributed very nicely to Team Europe's chances by its very existance. Removing the seniors brigade from pick temptation has ensured a European rejuvenation for the better.
So credit to LIV where its due there.
