LIV Golf

Koepka needs results to go his way to get an automatic place in the RC. Homa and a couple of others can go above him with good results in the playoffs meaning he would need to be picked.

Not that would be fun watching the world spin itself into a tizz 🤪

Also, @datagolf have upset the LiV bots on Twitter/X today. Where are they going to go for their made up world rankings now?

I don't think anybody wants to see any more of the tit for tat arguing to be honest Phil..

I know this. LIV have a backer, and the PGAT need a backer...

So who is in the better position?

The Tour that is self sustaining , has established itself over decades , has all the major media and commercials deals , has all the OEMs, and the majority of all the best players in the world and will have a pathway for all the up and coming players and doesn’t rely on the goodwill and funding from an oil state - funding that could be stopped at any time. One tour can only survive with state funding

There could be a scandal brewing with this Pazder fella at the PGAT.

See if more meat is put on the bones in the coming days

He was on youtube over the weekend, and getting tired of skateboarding monkeys and cats with new hair dos, he watched some LIV. And fell in love with it. Wants nothing more to do with the PGAT now.

I'd do a bit more research if I were you..
If alleged reports are true he will be too busy defending his behaviour.

The saying there isn't any smoke without fire may apply here.

All info are just leaks from trusted sources at the moment

I think BK would be a shoe-in Captain's Pick even if that does happen. And BDC could easily be one too. Had to smile at @datagolf's post - though surprised it#s that far down the all-time rank.

Do you think Zach is not going to pick the winner of the PGA to represent the PGA ?

I’ve no idea what he would do.

But it would be funny watching people lose their minds until he made a decision.

Koepka must be picked if he doesnt qualify. DeChambeau also.
Ryder Cup must be seen to retain its credibility and not harmed by this passing LIV disruption.

I struggle to understand how DeChambeau suddenly jumps into Ryder Cup reckoning on the back of just three great rounds (one at Valderrama and two at The Greenbrier) in an otherwise unremarkable season. Surely he'd have to streak away in Bedminster this week in order for his claims to gain any real traction.
At the moment, I'd have thought Scheffler, Clark, Harman, Koepka, Cantlay, Schauffele, Homa, Young, Spieth, Morikawa, Burns, Fowler, Bradley, and Finau all remain comfortably ahead of him in Zach Johnson's mind; possibly even McCarthy, English, Gooch and Thomas too.

He doesn't. At least not automatically. But as a Captain's pick, he's always been in contention imo. Constantly playing 2nd shots from 40 yards behind your opposition in matchplay can be depressing. The US team is fortunate wrt qualification criteria. I expect quite a drubbing this time unfortuntely.

I hope that both teams pick the best players, but am afraid that politics will rule,
can only hurt the event IMO.
That's easy enough for the European Team. I'm not sure anyone in LIV is playing good enough golf to warrant a place in the team anyway.
The Yanks however could have a few tricky decisions to make.

I’d agree with this, the only downside in my opinion is that Poulter, Westwood and Garcia would be excellent to have around the place as vice captains to help the new players coming in.
Like in any job you can’t buy experience.

Because of his win at The PGA, Brooks Keopka is currently in an automatic qualifying position even with limited other counting events. I predict a solid to big win by US unfortunately.

Not sure if you've seen the recent tweets from Mary Ann Reilly on Twitter, but she's making some pretty damning accusations against the leadership of the PGAT. It doesn't really seem to have been picked up on by the media in general, who are probably reluctant to report on the allegations, but even so, there's no smoke without fire, and Pazder's rapid exit seems to be connected may well be the smoke..
