So it’s ok to swear, unless somebody complains about it, then you get hit with an infraction. I’ve got it 👍
The mods don't read every post, it isn't possible. Someone may swear and be political in the same sentence and get away with it or it may be reported and they get points. Don't swear then there is no issue 🤷‍♂️

Stop being obtuse, or I’ll create a new infraction called “Wasting Moderators Time”

It would be nice if rather than arguing the toss. You just said Sorry Phil, point taken, I’ll be a good Mel in the future”

Jeez

Sorry Phillip, I promise to be a good little boy in the future.

Do you want me to flag up the other post that’s full of swearing as well do it can be dealt with?

I can’t believe some people swear on here and think it’s ok
Swearing is a skilful means of expressing emotion and is consistently positively correlated with creativity, intelligence, and honesty.

But back to picking over the bones of LIV. Key for Monahan and company are two issues :
- how to reintegrate the 10 or so players that are needed to enhance the revised PGAT. What means can be devised that are appropriate financial penalties, and over what timescale ?
- what learnings can be taken from LIV. Had it any positives at all and can any parallel or different flavour tour run without harming the PGAT ?

I think the players will come around, once they are assured that a new look LIV if there is one at all is for second tier players and they they need have no involvement in it. Scuppering the existing LIV will be the price to pay for keeping the McIlroy types and 'betrayed by Monahan' types on board. With the failure of LIV, dismantling it as a tour for the top echelon will not be a high price anyway.

Once the legal and financial detail is overcome, they are the critical elements that will define the future character of the revamped PGAT and a LIV successor if such a tour is considered to be worth trying.

Does anyone know what the timescale is for the legal and monopoly or US security concerns issues to be concluded ?

I honestly thought Jay was gone when the press release went out about his health break.
Thought that was going to be his easy exit, not sacked or resigned but step down because of health issues even if he had any or not.

Fair to say that possibly the merger talks would be better without Jay and Greg in their positions considering how derogatory their quotes have been about each organisation in the past 18 months.

At least Greg has always been consistent in his criticism of the PGAT.
Jay on the other hand has lost a lot of credibility for his eye watering hypocritical u turn, that unfortunately is going to stick with him forever.

I wonder if you are looking at Greg Norman though bias eyes 🤔

The guy has created as much of the toxicity as anyone within the sport over the last 18 months -

There is a reason why he has had zero involvement in any talks between PIF and the Tours

What’s confusing you ? You are clearly a huge LIV fan and Greg Norman is the golden child for LIV fans 🤷‍♂️

No no no, Greg is just easy meat for the anti LIV trolls to have a pop at, I don’t really recall anyone, pro or anti LIV saying Greg is the great messiah. As I’ve said, it’s just a narrative created by anti LIV trolls.

For you to say that though Phil... 🙈

Also I'm sure I just said it would possibly be better if Greg wasn't in his post, you did read that right ??
FYI that's not a supportive Greg comment.
Or did your biased eyes not register it ?

I have always said on here that I love the PGAT, watch the PGAT and that it needs to be protected.
I also enjoy watching Liv Golf which is my choice, I like that they are trying to do something different, again my opinion that I am not alone with on here.

This is a Liv Golf thread and although the PGAT is fantastic overall in what it is, its handling of the Liv Golf situation (Aka this thread) deserves to be criticised in my opinion.
Even their OWN players are critising their leadership.

I really do my research (Watch senate hearings, read officially released documents) and try my best to be informed on this thread topic.

My criticism of the PGAT just apportions to THIS TOPIC, that does not mean I hate the PGAT.

Very much the opposite is actually true.

I am praying a merger agreement happens that number one protects the PGAT, allows Liv to try and grow to see where it could go in the future.

Blaming Greg Norman for the situation the PGAT finds itself in, is about as logical as blaming Leeds Uniteds relegation on Pep Guardiola.

I said when all this started that Monahonn and Pelley were useless, and that working for a common solution between all parties was the right path to take.
Greg Norman reached out and the other two muppets closed the door on him, then tried to convince anybody gullibl
enough to believe them, that Greg Norman was satan..

Funny how it’s all worked out eh?

Greg Norman has had run in’s with the PGA tour for at least 30 years. Is he at fault this time? Who knows, and I don’t really care. For me, he’s always been too spikey. Great golfer to watch when he was ‘destroying’ courses with his swashbuckling play but off the course… nah, not one of my favourites.

Not sure about funny.

But it has worked out that the PGAT is secure, LIV is the subject of a study on whether it has any future, Monahan is the CEO of the ET, PGAT, and LIV if he sees a role for it. And Norman is out of a job.
