The source of money

The social media attacks from the likes of Phil Mickelson

The constant attacks from the likes of GN

The social media bots

The negative affect and split it’s had on the sport

Why do you think they can’t get sponserships and any significant media deals ? And you can’t say because it’s a start up when other start up comps from other sports can gain both before starting
If you hadn't put Phil and Greg, I'd have a hard time knowing which tour you were referring to.

DJ's game looking good going into the USPGA, if he keeps playing the way he is then I cant see him not winning tomorrow.
Bryson looking a lot better on the golf course but still sounding fragile about his game in the press conference.
Cam Smith and Brooks are looking like their games are in good shape.

Liv still obviously still has a way to go to become financially sustainable but they are making progress with getting crowds to attend/engage with their product with this USA event having a good attendance and atmosphere.

Just started to watch some LIV Golf for the first time.
I've been watching it for no more than five minutes.
There's a constant drone of background music, I've heard a baby crying and just seen Cam Smith being put off by the mobile phone which was audible on the broadcast.
Hmmm, no thanks!

It helps if you know what the product is before watching otherwise its going to seem very strange compared to traditional golf.
No quiet please signs at Liv Events 🤣🤣🤣

It's not for everyone for sure, need to approach it with an open mind..

Harold Varner III is -8 thru 10 holes o_O

Incredible golf - Could be a 59 ???

UPDATE - Now -10 thru 14 holes, needs one birdie in the last 4 for the fabled 59.

Some good low scores in that final day, including a very respectable 62 from Ogletree who stepped in to The Majestciks to cover for the injured Westwood.
He's a travelling reserve with the series apparently - but I suspect he'll have pricked a few ears with that round for next season.

Been told by a friend from the industry that the Saudis are massively regretting their partnership with Norman with LIV. They are looking for ways to pull the plug on the money.

They don’t need a media deal Phil, they’ve got a very very good app - tv deals across much of the world.

You are aware as well that it may not be in LIV’s best interests to rush into any sponsorship deals that could be sold for significantly more in a year or maybe 2 years time. The Saudis have funded it for several years, they’ll be happy with that financial commitment - and holding off until LIV further proves itself will be a smart move.

Time will tell, but with a growing younger audience and a more dynamic product - LIV fills a massive hole for many.
Having tv deals doesn't mean they don't need a media deal. In the business world, continuous growth is welcome...

If it happens then I don’t think anyone would be surprised

I suspect the players and Saudis would have expected more by now

Ranking points , sponsers , media deals , etc

It’s just not happened and it doesn’t seem to be happening soon - they can’t just keep shelling out money for nothing apart from making a handful of golfers richer

And when you add in the CW cutting the broadcast 4 holes from the end to show a variety of programs including a re-run of Penn and Teller.....it's not a good look.

Even on this crazy thread I think it probably makes sense not to continue conversations on the premise of "told by a friend" ?
Its LIV.
Much of its method has been :
- talk is that
- indications are
- sources close to, say
- hints that
- alludes to possible
- in the pipeline
- imminent announcement
- etc
to keep itself in the headlines . But it seems even running on fumes like that has come to an end, and it has just faded into the background. The lack of top new players in the latter half of last year was its stalling.

Did you watch it ?
I watched the whole of the last round.
For full context and to be fair this was down to a 2hr 20 min delay for lightning in the area where they had to clear the whole course.

The point is that they cut the broadcast to go to a repeat of a show.
If they'd been going to another Live program then you can understand it but to cut to go to a re-run of P&T shows where LIV golf stands with the network.
Whatever the reasoning behind it...it's not a good look.
