Lot's of people are incredibly naive to the economics of this and getting excited about one well attended event the other side of the world and playing this out into the future, entirely ignoring the money.

There is a reason why the majority of the events are in the US. If what they say is true, and that this is an investment that is ultimately designed to be profitable and fully self sustainable, then Liv has to crack the US, in a big way. (and to a lesser extent the UK)

They have to convince regular US golf viewers to watch, en masse, plus more casual sports viewers than the PGA currently does. This enables them sell media deals to the largest US networks, who will only be interested in doing so if they can generate large advertising revenue. Proportionally, companies spend very little of their advertising budget on the 18-30 demographic, as they have little disposable income. So it has to be the current base. They then have to convince the wealthiest US corporations to invest in sponsorships. these budgets arent growing, so it's moving it from a different sport or away from the PGAT (who have more big players). They have to convince billionaires to buy a golf team rather than a football team, F1 team, IPL, NFL, NBA etc etc.

Chances of success are still low, and this week in Australia hasnt really enhanced the economic side whatsoever.

Also, looks like the 7 network in Australia is reporting 2 million viewers for the Adelaide event.

And to think somebody was scoffed at way back in this thread for suggesting LIV could attract millions golf viewers….. ;-)

Little insight here as to where the series is planning on being in a few years time.

I'm a fan of the LIV concept as you well know, but this is the stuff that I really don't get to be honest!

I'm all for new golf courses or re-vamping old ones - but I don't see any need for Rangegoats GC unless the business plan is free membership to juniors in the local area and its funded by the team? That would be the "growing the game" angle ticked.

I suppose if all 12 teams built courses each could host an event across the calendar? But overall tbf I'm just trying to find something good from a load of tosh I think :ROFLMAO:

I should imagine it would be an affiliation to a club in a similar manner to the way tour pros do now.

Then there are lots of opportunities for that club to be called “The home of The Rangegoats/4 Aces etc.”

There are then countless opportunities to market the team, and the club through that arrangement.

So is the idea to have an event at each teams “home” course ? One event each

Is it like when they have the British Masters and they have a tournament host .

There was talk that all the players are told what to bring up in the Press Conferences - it all seems very scripted at times. Hence why there are now two players talking about world rankings again and two more talking about Ryder Cup

Always lots of talk about this sort of stuff and it seems like it’s trying to get people interested and a case of running before walking.

Get the basics sorted , the event they just had in Australia clearly was prob their most successful event - they found a formula that got people into the event . That’s what they should build on - the single events at the moment , get that sorted before even talking about all this other stuff

I agree with all of this.

Give us 14 events like Aus and the crowds will come.

I really hope LIV London gets a similar vibe/ hole as the watering hole but I doubt it!

Trying to think what sort of hole they could use at Hemel - the par 3s geographic layout don’t appear to set up for a stadium surround as such , most framed by trees and one with a pond behind

Might do something at 18th

We will start to see the advertising in the local area for the events

Yeah the trees will definitely get in the way! I'm sure where there's a will, there's a way though!

Well, that was the first bit of LIV golf I have seen, so it did that. But...it does sure look dodgy. And the commentator says a hole in one was promised there. There is a subtle unnatural movement of the ball after the pitch mark. At worst, for a lengthy VAR in Man City parlance.

This Sentosa course for this weeks event looks fantastic.

Liv have some great courses on their schedule like The Grange last week, former PGA stop Mayakoba and Valdarama.
Say what you want about Trump the person but his golf courses are very good and Liv stops at 3 of them but they still have some weak ones in there as well.

Florida offers so many better than Orange County and the UK far better than Centurion.
You would assume that taking the UK event to a trump course would be easily done.

For some context PGA Event venues are consistanly very high quality.
