They have to do one, I’m actually surprised that the usual LIV critics haven’t been launching their allegations of sexual discrimination against them for not already having one in place. Be rear if it could share the same venues as the men’s tour, on concurrent weekends.
I did, about 550 pages ago.

If LiV were truly interested in growing the game they would have included women. Having a limited field and a shotgun start would allow men and women to play a comp at the same venue. One lot play in the morning, the other the afternoon.

Seems like a massive oversight to me.

Surely they needed to create and successfully launch a tour before they take steps like that? Be interesting to see the media reactions should they form a women’s LIV league, bet there would be some massive rowing back, specially from the BBC.

You also need to question the timing of it all

What a shock that it’s at the same time as the First Ladies Major is about to start , it’s seem typical media games from Normal trying to find some way to get focus into LIV

I will be amazed if they throw the same level of money at the Ladies , it’s cost them a small fortune to try and make the LIV tour relevant and it’s not working , adding Ladies won’t change that

With LIV marketing itself as essentially a team competition to attract franchises, surely the best thing would be to have both men and women representing each organisation in the aame tournament. That would theoretically mean more support from both sexes, and more chance of corporate sponsors becoming involved.

For what it's worth, I think the whole team concept is a load of baloney. Golf has never been and never will be a team game.

Wow, it’s amazing how people always seem to try and find something negative in something that’s potentially positive 🙈🤣

Sorry - what’s the positive? The tours become more split at the Ladies level now ? Some more golfers get richer ?

Where is the actual positive announcement?
As it stands. It’s just more spin and propaganda spouted by Norman.

I haven’t seen many of them complaining about the Aramco investment in the women’s game, infact the opposite - many have been welcoming of the increased money on the table.

Why would they complain ? It allows them to continue to play on their LET which was suffering through lack of sponsorship due to the lack of exposure for the Ladies Game.

It’s nowhere near the hands of Norman and any of his grudge or propaganda.

I was careful to say potentially positive as I knew the pedants would be all over it 😉
That’s not the point I was making though, usual suspects with their doubting Thomas heads on was more my vibe.

Maybe Nelly, Lydia and thenrest will sue them for announcing this on the day of the first Major of the year and potentially distracting them.....

Yes, making big announcements, on the first day of a major, is very poor etiquette, which I'm sure Patrick Reed will agree

Apologies if this triggers a few, but fundamentally what Greg is saying here about opening up golf to the Asian markets and younger generations is spot on.

Surprised then they don’t have more events in Asia then as opposed to the majority being in the US 🤷‍♂️

Surely if he wants legacy for a global game and in Asia then play the majority of the events there and around the world as opposed to targeting a market that is already dominated by another tour

The European Tour for example is a more global tour - just isn’t as rich

That’s the legacy at the moment - lots of money being given to a small amount of golfers.

Would like to see the facts to back up his statements though in regards the fans.

This is fine in theory, but LIV has failed to deliver the highest level of golf and the international superstars, that such a strategy requires. Less sophisticated golf markets may be less demanding on the standard required though.

Are Singapore and Saudi Arabia the only 2 LIV events in Asia!? Meanwhile, does the USA have 8 LIV events?

Meanwhile, the European Tour have 10 events in Asia I believe, some of which are higher profile events. Think the PGA have a couple, although I'm guessing both lower profile events and both in Japan.

Not sure how LIV are opening up golf to the Asian markets. Golf is already there.

Also, I don't see how LIV appeals to younger viewers, but that debate has been had in here.

All that investment from the goodness of their hearts. And definitely nothing to do with LiV players needing OWGR points 🤣
