That they struggle, is why LIV wealth would be great for top level ladies golf. With solid financial backing, a struggling top division would be no more. LPGA and Let would be feeders.
Hard to see anything against a ladies LIV, but field should be bigger - at least 80, and no teams. Could be a big success.
LIV can offer a better package than lpga. Which is what they couldnt do with the top PGAT rank, and why they failed.
The top division of Ladies golf isn't struggling...The top 20 or 30 are already multi-millionaires and will only become richer due to LIV
The lower tier players would lose the benefit these top players bring to the table - sponsorship, prize money....
Without those top players the lower tier will die...there will be no investment in it because nobody will want to watch because the big stars are no longer there.
Womens golf, at the moment, has little strength in depth...it's the big stars that keep it going.
If the LPGA, LET, Symmetra and Access tours all die how is that good for Women's golf?
Great for the stars, crap for the rest.
Ladies LIV will kill the majority of Ladies Professional Golf....

There is a continuation of posts in this thread which to me, appear to be classic astroturfing.

I’m quite switched on to things like that, you become fairly accustomed to the style of posts from using Reddit etc and all my spidey senses are repeatedly tingling when I read the latest posts here every so often.

If this was truly to help the game, 100million to the r and a, and usga with a couple corporate oversight big wigs with experience in delivering projects - Barry Hearns types. That would grow the game.

Giving out paychecks to disrupt the top level of the game, is a comedy attempt at growing the game. Even to give it credance would have Greg Norman chuckling in his board room

Why does no one talk about the 50-70 pro's who are now getting starts thanks to LIV ?

Am sure they are quite pleased that LIV came along and given them more opportunities.

im sure Billy Horschel should be very grateful to liv.. ironically very outspoken about it but he got up to 11th in the world.. he really isnt a top 11 player...

might even get a ryder cup spot

The level of cognitive dissonance displayed in this thread is beyond outstanding 🤣

The conversation level of this thread would be better if people were consistent in their opinions and thought through the logical extension of what they claim to dislike / support. Otherwise it’s just tribalist rubbish

7 professional wins..

in the last 5 years .. 3

his fedex was almost a decade ago.

And 🤷‍♂️ he still didn’t get to 11 in the world just because of LIV players going ad you suggest

And it’s 9 professional wins and in the last 5 years it’s 4 , with 3 wins in the last 2 years , with the Memorial Last year being his last win.

This point has been made multiple times…

LIV haven’t taken anybody away from anywhere. The players have been banned from playing by the tours that they were originally playing on before joining LIV. Those tours had a decision to make, and that’s is what they chose. Nothing to do with LIV.

Hopefully the ladies game will see sense and embrace the extra funding and exposure that LIV can bring to the game, and move ladies golf on to another level.
feel free not to respond again then

You mean the ones that weren't good enough to make it before LIV removed some of the top players and called it 'growing the game'!? Could also be deemed 'diluting the quality'!

I wouldn't trust the R&A to grow Japanese knotweed. Their only input into the game of golf recently has been the proposed rollback, which is by definition, taking the game backwards.

If you want to grow the game of golf you put it infront of people that aren't currently participating - but the rollback is like saying to all those people - "Hey, you know how difficult golf is, well we're making it even harder for you"
But we digress.

Hopefully LIV can build on the TV deals they have in place - it's on national TV in OZ this weeknd I believe, hopefully we see that repeated in other countries moving forward.

That is just complete garbage, previousley these players would have played circa 20 PGAT/DPWT events a year. With LiV contracted these players to 14 events, how many events on the established tours do you think they have played. Given that a number moving to LiV stated that one of their reasons for koving was to play less golf, then it would not have been more than 3 or 4 would it. So yes LiV did take players away from those tours.

Please explain how it is doing that for the average golfer.

The R&A invest in golf projects all around the world, that investment is reaping its rewards particularly in Asia where the sport is booming.

The roll back won't affect normal golfers, only those with swing speeds over 115. Which very few weekend warriors manage.
In fact it wouldn't even effect Kevin Na or Poulter if it was brought into LIV, except to bring them nearer to the big boys
