With everything going on its easy to forget Greg was Open Champion twice which is what many would die for

Had a masters and a USPGA snatched from him and it wasn't due to choking but incredible, some would say lucky shots from Larry Mize and Bob Tway.

Yes he choked a few times but one thing is for sure is that he had an incredible pro golf career.

2 Majors
20 PGA Tour Wins
14 European Tour Wins
90 Total worldwide wins
Longest stint as World no 1 - an incredible 331 weeks
Is in the world golf hall of fame

Anybody want to argue that's not a great career?
Greg deserves to be respected as a golfer what ever you think of the person..
That doesn't seem to indicate a 'choker' - just as Rory isn't one for letting CS overtake him at The Open last year - or Brooks at August last weekend! Just a case of an ill-timed not-so-good, or downright poor, day!

I would be keen to read this also….But not an Audible purchase for sure!

I listened on Audible to his book on Phil..

I actually quite like him on his podcast, but his Audible reading of his own book was horrendous — intonation and stress totally wrong and made it hard to listen to…the book was interesting as I’m sure this will be. But literary masterpiece I’m sure it won’t be…so much hyperbole and sensationalism in his writing of ‘Phil’

I also disagree with his claims of ‘off the record’ / on the record

I have already ordered my copy.
As I ve said many times no one knows the full story like top golf journalist Alan Shipnuck who is a major part of the story after penning the Mickleson book.

Will it be 'the full story' when it's actually available though! Quite a time lag between going to publication and being available to read! Podcasts, magazine articles, interviews etc are significanly more current! And that's even considering that court cases would still be months away! More like 'The Story So Far'! Still a good time to cash in though - if it fades away (not that I think it will) it would have been a missed opportunity!

I see the young Aussie fella wants more games per annum as he likes several games in a row.

Must be quite refreshing for The Liv Golfers to be getting such a positive reception and response down under in Australia..

Looks like its going to their best event yet of their young life as a tour.

A couple from my club has gone over from Perth and a mate who's a pro at a nearby course has gone also with a group, they have been looking forward to it for some time.

Quite like what they've done with the groupings here for Friday - Captains going out together in 3 balls then the 3 remaining players will go out together with their team mates - I'd imagine the Rippers will have quite a bog mobile following out there, and Poults will be looking forward to being out there with Koepka and Smith.

I have said this for ages, getting team mates to play together enhances the team element, see the team spirit, celebrating each others good shots etc

Crowds are going to be massive but Cams group and Ripper GC will have most of them I would have thought

Under LIV rules, are they allowed to assist each other?

I'm sure the LIV golfers will get a great reception from a sports-mad country relatively starved of top level golf! TV audience likely to be minimal though because of the time difference, so the nay-sayers will pounce on that! Entertainment for all! :ROFLMAO:

As long as LIV is there long enough to wait for them, I would say Greg is correct. There will always be a trickle of players hitting that mid or upper 40s age group, McDowell or Westwood types, for whom going Champions tour, or LIV, is a valid dilemma. It could carve a niche as an early champions tour. And I could see it becoming the prime champions/legends/senior tour. That could be LIVs salvation.

LIV golf on free to air TV in all of OZ, hope BBC takes note.

A lot of countries are willing to embrace Liv Golf.

The really strong anti Liv feeling is reported to be mainly in the USA and UK, Just so happens to be 2 of the most important markets.

No UK TV Deal is still a big miss for them for sure.
If they could, like in Oz get a free to air channel in the UK to showcase Liv it would get a lot more people tuned in to give their golf product a chance.

The bottom line is that without more top rank golfers, they dont have a chance, and people know they dont need to see it to know its not of interest. If they signed 10 of the worlds top 30 or something, then for sure, its game on and the interest would be there.

The explanation, if there is a stronger lack of interest (and I would say there is none to infinitesimal) in the UK and USA is probably that they are the more sophisticated golf markets. They know the LIV player standard offering is poor. Other regions may not quite appreciate that, or are maybe tickled to have any golf visit their area at all, and so overlook the lack if real top rank competition in LIV.
