How much you you pay to play Augusta?

As long as someone else paid my flights & accomodation I'd pay anywhere between £100 - £300. Though if someone tied me down to a figure I'd say £150 as an realistic maximum.

I'd want to play with Greg Norman, Darren Clarke & Jiminez, though I could quote any number of Pro's I enjoy or I think would be interesting to play a round of golf with.

mono do you have 10K? You'd need to sell a lot more clubs to make that sort of money.

If we all won the lottery tonight or next week then we'd probably pay whatever it would need to secure an opertunity to play. But this is the real world & few people would pay what they don't have.

I wouldn't pay more than £150. I'm pretty certain I've played 5 or 10 better courses than Augusta already in my life, with a greater history, and £130 is the most I've paid for a round. More than that is just daft.

I paid 140 for RCD, so I guess on that basis I would pay at least that for Augusta. But..... I would want to play it just before the masters, ideally on one of the practice days, because without the gallerys, I get the impression it is a bit soul less. The greens look a bit out in the open, with nothing around them to give it focus. Also, I would want the greens running fast, as otherwise it wouldn't be the same.

I think there are others I'd rather play than this one. Still to play The Old Course and Muirfield here so Iwouldn't even think of Augusta for a long time.

If they invited me for a day.... well that's different.

I'm daft then...paid more for a well known course in Spain

wouldn't pay it again, plenty "hidden gems" out there at a fraction of the price.

Probably about £100 as it would cost me double that in the amount of balls i would lose !!!
As for partners,,, seve, gary player, sergio and monty

I remember a chap I know who went to Agusta and his comments about it ( Im playing with him soon and ready to lose some money :(.)
He told me it was a great place and a great atmosphere but as a course people are taken in by it including the pro's and are intimidated by something that isnt all that intimidating apart from a handful of holes, a serious handful admitedly but only a handful. He also said if any decent golfer had ever played a woodland course with undulating fairways with some blind shots and fast undulating greens you wouldnt have many problems on a dozen holes there carding a decent score off the club tees. He also said its about distance, GIR and great putting for the pro's, something they are all capable of.
I tend to believe him, especially when you see Kim shoot 11 birdies in a round there, youngsters often dont feel the same pressure as mature players. So maybe Agusta is all in the mind for some. :D

Interesting post HNJ. I know someone who has been there but not played. He described some of the fairways as "massive", some of the greens as "stupidly large" and no rough.
NO rough :)...pine straw admittedly, but it's protection is the undulations, the length (not as long for the members) and the speed of the greens.

Yes very similar conversations had with this chap on those same lines RGDave, especially the massive greens and a lot less hazards than you might find at other courses. I have viewed this course as we all have for years as well as from google earth and books, apart from the well known few, I havent seen many holes posing a serious problem, nor are there many hazards there and the scores the pros post there are comparable to other tournament scores around the globe so I think its reputation is a little ott, not much though :D.

not more than £150, and for playing partners, a few of the guys off the forum, but some pro caddies eg fanny, (not phil's though - does he never shut up?)
