How Much Would You Pay?

I'd pay more for the impact dynamics!

Would this backswing be cheaper or more expensive?

Aesthetically it's a £1.70 swing but the ball doesn't care about that. Both of those swings have been pretty successful.

I purposely picked Furyk because to date they're very similar careers, same number of majors, similar best finishes in majors, similar PGA tour wins, similar total money earned (I suspect Scott will pull ahead, but more due to purses getting bigger)

I know I'm not normal, but.......... I pay a pro to work on my swing, which then becomes perfect. I then get bored with golf and quit.

I want a perfect swing.....but if I ever got it it would be the end of the road for me. I need to be constantly frustrated.......followed by periods of success.....followed by frustration......and usually beer.

For 30+ years , I’ve replicated Scott’s swing, until I had my first video’s lesson a couple of years ago.

But I don’t tell anyone, apart from you.

You will keep my secret , won’t you?

(Influenced by alcohol - on our last night in the Canaries.)

There's always an exception but as a rule of thumb, the point is right. It's the same in cricket where most batsmen have a fairly straight backlift, allowing a straight follow through. There will always be the odd one, usually Indian or Pakistan players, wristy players, who have a backlift with a flourish.

The take away in golf, for most, sets the foundations for the rest of the swing. A coach always needs to recognise the exceptions though, and leave them alone.
